Wow Kerry is leading Bush 49-48
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 03:03 PM by demdem
You may say big deal one point. But a Democrat rarely ever leads in this poll.

President Bush "appears vulnerable on several fronts, including support for whether he deserves re-election and worries about the country’s direction," but Sen. John Kerry "has been unable to capitalize on those weaknesses," according to a new bipartisan Battleground 2004 Poll. (See the full poll results.)

The result "is a tight race between a vulnerable incumbent and a challenger who has not yet defined himself... Bush and Kerry were virtually tied in the survey, with Kerry at 49 percent support and Bush at 48 percent."

2. That's not a lead
That's well within the 3% statistical margin of error.

4. Also, does the poll include Nader as an option?
And, where is the poll? I didn't see the same poll on the link you gave. I don't want to poop on your parade, but at no point should deceive ourselves into painting a picture that is rosier than the actually reality.

3. Issues
On just about everything EXCEPT National Defense/Terrorism, Kerry is stomping on Bush.

7. Yes, and I don't think that people believe in Bush's abilities...
in those issues, so much as they just don't see Kerry as being any better. Like most people, they'll take the devil they know over the devil they don't know.

5. It is very unusual to have such an unpopular President during a war

Usually, the country rallies around the President.
