WLS-AM reports Air America bounced the check--please post reports here

I think we should keep track of every media outlet that reports that Air America bounced a check. . .if this is untrue this is a serious case of defamation. Again whomever reports that Air America bounced a check without adding the "alleged" should be held accountable.

WLS-AM is conservative haven.

This deserves its own thread also only post reports of who is saying that Air America bounced a check without saying alleged.

This happened between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Roe Conn and Ron Magers of ABC7 were discussing it.

who's also wrong. This is an issue with the owner of the radio station (some guy name Lou) in both markets trying to shake down AA. Randi had their lawyer on earlier who explained what's going on, and it's nothing to do with bounced checks.

news stories are wrong and get changed all the time...
as do stories on the web ..for instance: I haven't seen any stories saying "Ashcroft claims he flew commercail planes, but we can prove he didn't!"..have you...that's been out there for years...very quiet today...

With Air America, you're talking about a business who is being damaged by slander and libel. It's actionable and action should be taken.

but it AAR sues them, AAR shouldn't whine about press freedom much...stories are wrong a lot...but we know that

This is the same station that immediately bounced their only liberal talk show -- the Sunday afternoon Ski and Skinner Show -- because Nancy Skinner ran for the senate and they didn't want to run into "equal time" problems with other Democrats and Republicans.

And they replaced that show with some Ann Coulter wish-she-was.

This is also the station that took one of the hottest firebrand liberals, Jay Marvin, and got him to sell out and become a mealy-mouthed Alan Colmes moderate.

This is a station that has Rush, Hannity, Roe Conn (who at times makes Hannity sound like Chomsky) and, finally, fired Mike Malloy.

It's a Wing-nut outlet and shouldn't be counted on to give AAR a fair shake.

From some sources I've spoken to, and several radio message boards (radio-info)...it's either one of two things...that Air America's first check for the purchase of the two former Radio Unica properties failed to get credit approval or that the arrangement for the sale was improper as Radio Unica couldn't sell the stations without the approval of their recievers and a new deal has to be worked out. I've heard both stories from "reliable sources".

If the company were insolvent, they wouldn't still be on the air in New York. This appears more a mess in the finances of Radio Unica than Air America.

As far as WLS...except for a brief listen now and then, it lost me several years back when they let Malloy go in favor of Hannity...the last straw for someone who lived with the 890 spot on his radios for 40 years. Nate Clay is the only real Progressive voice left on that station.

I don't think WLS has much to worry about a small upstart, the station and its parent company, Disney, have a lot more problems to worry about.

CNN is saying that AARadio was shut down two weeks after it began, in LA & Chicago, "over financial dispute."

No mention of bounced check theory.

I agree Table Talk was great until they went to "pay". It still has some very informative posters, but unfortunately, that decision eliminated many posters also.

Du gets a little crazy, but in a good sort of way. Du allows freedom of speech without having to ante up.

I was blindsided by this on another board today. The wingnuts over on the Excite message borads were all over this like flys on shit, calling it a humiliation and a hilarious emmbarrsment for liberals. Since I can't get DU at work, I was skeptical, but truyly did'nt know if it was true or not.

I'd love some ammo to shove in their faces. They got snookerd just like this with the Kerry & intern mistress affair B.S.

Make sure you pay attention to see if they press reports whether or not they say Air America "allegedly bounced a check."
