I need talking points on the draft if bu$h* wins the election

I talked about it with Mom today. She always hated politics, but now she finds herself dragged into it by necessity.

I need to explain to her in great detail what will happen. I've already told her what exemptions do and do not exist. (The only exemptions are for medical reasons and sexual orientation. In theory, CO status is possible; in practice, it does not exist.)

Furthermore, she knows hundreds of people at work, the vast majority of whom are unionized (if that's any clue as to their political leanings). They, in turn, know lots of people in swing states, I'm sure. Yes, I'm hinting at a little grassroots activism here, because this issue needs to get out.;-)

I am looking for 1)the details of the draft, 2)WHY it will happen under * (need specific information about troop levels/depletion of NG and Reserves/escalation quotes, etc), and 3)QUANTIFIABLE evaluations of the effects on the draft on military readiness during previous conflicts (notably, Vietnam).

And lo, there will be freepers, especially when Mom's coworkers start telling THEIR friends about it. This is why I need such specific information.
