Smash the Media Monopolies! Join the Citizen-financed Media Revolution!
As the tragic fall of the once unstoppable Dean campaign has shown us, social change without media change is like sailing into a gail. We *must* change the media, or, even if we barely steer clear of the rocks of another Bush administration this election season, we will run the risk of being shipwrecked by the gails of following elections. Air America is a good start, but it is unfortunately no where near enough. The Media Venture Collective is adopting the collective citizen donation methods of MoveOn and Democracy for America. Their goal is the creation of, not only new, open, sources of media, but of a new system of positive media investment which rivals the corporate perfect storm of greedy investment in profits and monopolization. This is exactly what we need! Yes, help fund Democracy for America, MoveOn, or the Kerry campaign, but to really make your donations to those organizations effective, donate to the Media Venture Collective to. Otherwise, you may as well be throwing you money into the wind.
