I'm not so sure about some of the programming on Air America
Namely "The Majority Report". I'm listening to it right now. Lots of yelling.

Discuss.

2. THIS IS GREAT! The most effective program I've heard on AirAm so far
Really good. I wouldn't enjoy reading the transcript perhaps, but it's compelling listening

5. Funny, wingnuts earlier said it's "like NPR" - boring and slow
geez, maybe it has different styles, for different audiences? nah, all liberals are the same...:eyes:
The majority report is as good as his guests. When Atrios is on is best.

13. Welcome to DU, TruShade.
It's just that people are not used to hearing liberals scream and yell. Over time we've been conditioned to hearing the right scream, yell, and rant. We've gotten used to it.

I'm glad liberals are getting angry. We should be angry instead of turning the other cheek. That gets us nowhere. Majority report over Alan Colmes anyday.

11. have you listened to it before?
generally it's an "excited" tone but not lots of yelling or anything. occasionally towards the end of the show it's obvious they're worked up and might yell a little. plus, they were having problems with the mics earlier.

14. here's my plan for getting Mike Malloy on AAR...
dump the NPR-ish boring 'So What Else Is News?'
move 'Majority Report' back an hour so it follows Randi Rhodes
bring on Mike Malloy for a 3-hour show following 'Majority Report'

what do you think?

17. Really
It doesn't bother me if either side is vocal. I'm willing to allow neocons to have their opinions. My point, however, is that on Majority Report they can back up their yelling with solid research. Not so with Limpballs or O'Lielly. Yelling is fine--just make sure you know what you're talking about.

16. Seder is too shrill sometimes.
He's as about as articulate as I am, which isn't great because he's on the radio trying to represent a progressive viewpoint. All of this Bushco is enough to make anyone shake their head in disgust and frustration, but that doesn't necessarily make for good radio.
Janeane is perfect.

18. Air - Whine - America - Radio
i had much higher hopes for air america...

it sounds like a group of uninformed, discursive crybabies. nobody likes to listen to whiners. i haven't heard this much name-calling since kidnergarten.

i believe they're doing more damage to the left than the pill-popping pedagogue himself. the programming strains credibility. Al frankin, i love you... as a comedian. leave 'liberal media' to the professionals (like npr).

30. should i be?
i was looking forward to a liberal station that had substance...however the overplaying of conspiracy theories gets tiresome after time.

Instead i suggest the discussion of liberal/progressive IDEAS about what should now be done in this country and in iraq (aside from voting out bush). So far, i've only heard W-bashing, fox-bashing, etc... let's talk about something new, fresh, and dare i say, positive?

AAR is depressing to listen to.

31. It sounds like you havent listened to it.
Ive been listening alot since it started. Ive heard great guests with great discussions on many issues that we rarely get to hear about and new points of view on the issues that matter. I have not heard any particularly large amount of conspiricy theories.

It sounds to me like you are only hearing what you want to hear. Maybe this isnt your thing, but that doesnt make it horrible.

Single-payer health-care
Gas tax increase.
Tax breaks for alternatie/renewable energy investments.
Corporate taxation
Corporate regulation
FCC reregulation of the public airwaves.
