but the chances are extremely good that Mike Malloy will never be hired at KIRO-AM.
Mike was interviewed by them during his time at ieAmerica, as stated in a recent "Salon" article. KIRO's management trends towards the right and is VERY uncomfortable with anyone as brilliant and outspoken as Mike Malloy. Let's face it, Mike Webb (liberal air personality,) has the #1 rated show on the station, and he does the weekday 10 PM - 1 AM shift.
If you still want to bug them, the person to call, write, e-mail, fax and send overnight mail to is Kris Olinger, their program director. I called her shortly after the article in Salon to ask exactly why they didn't hire Mike Malloy; she told me that it was "none of my business". I informed her that I'm a listener, their advertisers certainly care what I and others think of their programming, and I'll be patiently waiting for their FCC comment period (they have one every several years in order to keep their broadcast license.)
It's IMHO, but the best venue for Mike would be AirAm. Petitions aren't working. Are there any evilDU'ers near the New York City area that could "take a meeting" with AirAm's management group? If we'd really like to get the job done, we can start another thread or a unique e-mail address, ask those who want to hear Mike again to write about how they think he'd add to what's already happening at AAR. The people going to the meeting could hand-carry the printed (hopefully thousands,) of notes and letters to the AAR management group.
What do you all think about this one? New York City DU'ers, what are your thoughts on the matter?
