Anybody know details on dead soldier collage protrait of Bush?
I'm designing my own website detailing the failures of the pResident and I've place the portrait of Bush made from a collage of American soldiers killed in Iraq.

Does anyone know the background on this masterpiece? I'd like to include an attribute to the genius who created it, as well as seek permission to actually use it.

4. I hope every picture used was compensated for it
Each and every soldier or family who had a picture used should get lots of money. I just hope the artist got permission from everyone involved before using their picture.

Not as much money as Cheney did. I know when you want to make LOTS of dough you put it on the internet.

6. Oh, really Alice? How much money is a dead soldier worth?
Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 07:11 AM by Enraged_Ape
I'm just curious as to the dollar figure you've arrived at, and how you arrived at it.

7. Ask the artist
I don't condone using these soldiers pictures without the permission of their survivors. If it was my son I would sue the artist for all he is worth.

9. You would sue? How interesting. Again, I ask you:
What is the dollar amount for each of these soldiers' lives? I mean, after all, you have to have one to sue.

If it were my kid on that display I would feel honored that someone out there is remembering them, and is making others remember. The dead soldiers from this war are being hidden by this administration and this press. Bush refuses to attend even a single funeral for these fine young men and women who gave there lives so that Halliburton and their CEO Dick Cheney can become rich beyond Satan's dreams.

If it were my kid in that display, I would devote every remaining minute of my life to removing the criminals from power who so cavalierly sent him or her to die for their greed.

10. We agree to disagree
If my son was used in that picture without my permission there would be no dollar amount to squelch my outrage. I can only answer with double of whatever money the artist has or will ever make.

11. Outrage
I would not be outraged about the artist but more outraged at the person portrayed in the picture. I wonder how much money Bush made of the dead fireman being removed from the ruins of the World Trade Center, I mean he used it as a Campaign image. A dead guy...send money to ME. Yeah, maybe if I learned how to read I might have done something to keep that ex fireman alive but I didn't..so send MONEY to ME.

12. I don't think the artist did it for $$$$. It's a political statement.
And anyway, the Internet isn't exactly a cash cow when it comes to art.

But if he did market and sell this image, I agree that he should give something back to the families.

14. I think I would be more outraged at my son's death
being due to an unnecessary war that need not have been fought. But that's just me.

13. I ran across a site that makes those
collages from the pictures you provide. You could use public domain photos. Do you want a link if I find it?
