Can someone answer these serious questions about military forces?

Can someone answer these serious questions about military forces?

After hearing the General and Rumsfeld at their press confereces today I am totally puzzled. If there is someone here who can honestly and factually answer these questions, please do so.

1. How many men and women make up our armed forces (total)?
(Heard General say we had 2.4 million and that we could handle conflicts anywhere we needed to.

2. If the 2.4 million figure is correct does it include National Guard and Reservists?

3. Why is it necessary to have so many NG and Reservists in Iraq if we are fully prepared with 2.4 million armed forces?

I admit, I am ignorant of military terminology but what am I missing here?

If the 130,000 troops in Iraq have to have such a large percentage of NG and Reservists...aren't we in trouble?

I still will have to do a lot to understand what I am reading. But am I mistaken when I say there seems to be more NG and Reservists in Iraq than regular combat troops?
