Air America going back on in Chicago!
The judge ruled in their favor. Los Angeles was not part of this injunction but Air America is pursuing the case.

I have a message to all of you freepers. You've had you're fun, now GO HOME. Your moment of gloating has passed. You read all kinds of bogus garbage into this that wasn't true. But it's over. You've lost. See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!

10. Interesting...
I was wondering about that. I tried downloading an image and it says I have one in there, but it never showed up. I don't know what to do about it, I kind of gave up. Thanks for the tip though.

13. Yep, they were salivating over the idea of Clinton's bastard child...
...another gem of drudge's.

Oh, and the best part for them, was that it was supposed to be an interracial child. Bonus points for them, since "race mixin'" is the Devil's work to those freaks.

6. As soon as they can get in the door
Liu changed the locks. So they have to get someone to open it and get in there.

11. LA was the main issue
Liu was double charging per AAR management for air time. AAR stopped payment on the checks until the finacial situation in LA was settled. Liu locked out the Chicago station which he had no right to do. Chicago was paid in full.

NOW, the issue is to prove who's right in LA station.

One option could be that Liu have violated the contract and AAR can move to another station in Los Angeles.

I wish they would. One with a better signal to reach the Valley better, Long Beach and toward Ventura county.

12. Liu took AirAmerica's $$$ ...
for 2 months prior to them going on the air, then he proceeded to sell the same airtime to someone else, knowing that Air America wasn't using it yet. When AA found out, they stopped payment on their next check. Liu doesn't legally have the right to double dip, however, he MAY be able to get away with just refunding their money and pay for damages. Considering he's GOP and just entered into a deal with GE that may be what he tries to do. That would only mean that AA would have to find someone else to buy airtime from, which shouldn't be too difficult. The check they stopped payment on was for $1 million. I'm sure someone will want that money.

14. Thank for clearing that up.
Which is why I wonder a couple of things.

When AAR anounced that KBLA 1580 was the new LA station a few months ago. I looked them up on the web. At the time KLBA was a Koren language station. They had a website and everything. THEN a couple of days later the station was in Spanish and the Koren station's website had new call letters and new station number.

SO, that's what he did.

Sounds like either:

1. Liu owes AAR some money
2. Liu just voided the 2 year contract with AAR
3. AAR is free to get another LA station.

15. I hope they sue Liu's a$$ off
for unlawfully shutting them out of the Chicago station and saying AAR "bounced" a check. Lost business revenue, tarnishment of their name in the industry, lost listernership . . .

And I hope Al Franken hits all the late night talk shows and describes what a fool this Liu guy is, and what a dolt Drudge is.

16. from the Majority Report blog
"We won the injunction in NY State court this morning. We will be back up in Chicago soon if not already.
As far as LA, I'm not sure what AAR is pursuing. The injunction was filed specifically in regard to Chicago.
Why didn't it include the LA station? Not sure.
I know that there are two separate contracts for LA and Chicago. I know that the Chicago injunction was a slam dunk because the Chicago contract had nothing to do with the Los Angeles contract. The dispute centers on a breach of the contract for the LA station. It just so happens that AAR had entered into both contracts with the same person and he was trying to leverage Chicago to intimidate AAR. (The fact that AAR's CHI checks didn't "bounce" should give you a clue as to the validity of the claim that AAR's LA checks did. The checks come from the same account).
It is possible that this type of injunctive relief is not available in regard to the LA situation. I don't know. It is possible that there are other opportunities for AAR in LA. I don't know. I'm going to look into this.
The bottom line. We're here to stay. We're just going to grow bigger and bigger. Part of it will be due to the free publicity this week."

Yeah!!! Now I can listen in the car!!!

AA is going to be so popular here!!

I guess WCHL resolved their problems with AA wanting all the airtime. CHL just wanted to syndicate some shows at first.

Anybody know anything from CHL's end?

edit: That'll teach me to read the full press release. :P Looks like AA will be giving them what they wanted. Al's show and Jeanean's show. Still, that's great. :D

21. Just heard Chicago will be back tomorrow.
They don't know yet what's happening with LA. Quote: We will be back on the air in Los Angeles, soon. What venue will be determined.

Hmmmm? Sounds like they are gonna screw Liu back and get another station.
