Of course it was a mass mailer soliciting a campaign contribution. The picture of the lovely couple at the ranch house came with a pre-payed postage envelope. I will be sending the envelope back with the following note. Please offer any suggestions.
George and Laura,
Thanks so much for the lovely photo of the two of you at The White House of the South. I read recently that you have spent almost half your presidency there, including the days leading up to 9/11. I sure am glad you get to vacation so much.
Although I am not one of your wealthy frontier donors, I would like to pledge a large sum to your campaign coffers. I know it must be difficult to run against John Kerry on your record alone and that every penny in your 200 million dollar war chest is necessary. Before I contribute my hard earned money, I would like a few reassurances of my investment. When I see that you have done the following, I will send my check:
1. Find WMD's in Iraq. If they don't turn up, I would like an apology to the American people for dragging the US into an unjustified war.
2. Signature on Kyoto Treaty and reinstatement of Clinton environmental regulations that you dismantled.
3. Funding for your no child left behind initiative.
4. Release of the names on Dick's energy panel.
5. Creation of a health care system that reflects what a humane and rich country we are.
6. Your sworn testimony (alone) about what you did to protect our country from attack from terrorists on 9/11.
7. Return our deficit spending back to the surpluses that you inherited.
8. Create 2.4 million jobs that you have lost on your watch.
9. Re-instill at least half of the credibility that you have lost among the nations of the world.
10. Explanation of why O'Neil and Clarke are liars and your administration is telling the truth.
11. Repeal of the tax cuts that benefitted the wealthiest Americans while the poorest and neediest suffered under your cuts on health and human services.
Thanks for your consideration in these matters, I eagerly anticipate the day I can send this check to you.
