1. They will have the transcript in their Archives later. Worth a listen
if you missed it.

4. Details please?
OF COURSE Ashcroft lied. But what specifically are you referring to here? And is it nearly as big as Tenet's lie (that he didn't mean with the President in the whole month of August 2001 when in fact he did)?

7. The interviewer asked her: Pickard and Ashcroft contraticted
each other. In your opinion, who is lying.
And she said (paraphrasing) You only have to look at Ashcroft's actions: stonewalling, issuing gag orders, not interviewing the people who are cited as having evidence about ineptitude an coverup of evidence. And then she said, of course it is Ashcroft who is lying.

9. Ben-Veniste's examination was cursory

The Secretary's response that he continued to use commercial transportation for himself and his family privately is inconsistent not only with the CBS article cited here but also the purported security reason given by the FBI.

If there was a threat to the attorney general, why would there be a distinction between private and personal trips? Does the threat go away because one is on personal business. I think the original question raised by CBS had to do with the ethical issue of a government official using government paid transport for private use. The threat assessment then was revealed.

I think evidence of all the Ashcroft flights should be obtained and made official records to put this matter to rest definitetively. It could be that this was no more than an ethical violation by the AG that he originally lied about to cover up.

10. But Sibel's point is that he has been OBSTRUCTING the investigation.
He was the one issuing the gag orders for ALL the information she provided so that it can NEVER get out.

11. Yes, he and the FBI director
Without a doubt. The obstruction of justice is blatant and not even inquired into by this commission.

12. He also failed to say his AG office signed off on the Gorelick memo also
He reaffirmed its guidance. If they thought it was such a problem why didn't the Bush administration recind the guidance?

a number of other sources indicate, rather unambiguously, that it was Justice's attorneys, not agents or attorneys at
the FBI, who turned down the request:

The FBI went to its Justice Department superiors for a warrant to allow it to collect intelligence on. what appeared to be
a criminal conspiracy or terrorist planning. It was denied. The Justice. Department Office of Intelligence and Policy
Review (OIPR) refused to take the case to a judge who could consider a warrant request.
