been to a Move ON bake sale yet?
I have. At a wide spot in the road in beautiful Washington County, upstate NY. They have raised almost 300 bucks- and with well over a thousand sales being held across the country, I am sure they will raise over a quarter of a million dollars this weekend- how cool is that?!!!!!! The cookies were yummy- get out there and support Move On!

13. If you missed one today...
Keep an eye out over the next couple of weekends. Ours didn't come off today due to a lack of location, but will likely show up next Saturday or the Saturday after that.

Chelsea Bake Sale on 14th Street in Manhattan. I contributed shortbread and Chewy Pralines. The weather is gorgeous.

6. Shortbread!
Edited on Sat Apr-17-04 01:27 PM by redwitch
I think Move On should put together a cookbook-they could call it "Recipes for Democracy" and include your shortbread recipe and somebody else's raisin cookies, pie etc.Give all the baked goods great antiBush names, and sell the book online- just like churches and junior leagues and PTAs have been doing for decades. Intersperse the recipes with great quotes about freedom, patriotism, democracy. I'd buy several!

7. No, but I did help out at our Democratic booth...
at our Rockwall Founder's Day festival today. I had lots of fun hanging with my buds.

In our 85% Repub burg, we actually had a great reception, and a bunch more people know about our Rockwall Democrats group. We gave out copies of "Uncovered" and may have converted some folks who said they've always been Repub, but were considering voting for Kerry this time.

I think we'll have even more members before too long.

14. Lake Oswego?
Wow, that's cool. Even rich Repub-ish towns can support MoveOn.

I'm waiting to go to one on May 8th in Multnomah Village (Portland neighborhood), which is closer to me.

11. Northern Virginie
I rolled by one in Arlington, earlier this afternoon. They bought in around $1800 in that one location alone. And it was good bicycle petrol.

And strawberry's are in season, yum!! We have over 20 people baking as well as providing refreshments, registering voters, and generally enjoying "liberal" conversation. I hope to meet some of our Sac DUers there - it's gonna be great! :hi:
