Anybody see Bill Schneider on CNN tonight?
They gave him the stage regarding what Woodward has said, and I was expecting the usual CNN Bush-can-do-no-wrong spin, and instead he just sorta went off on how incredibly bad it was for *, basically repeating what Woodward charged etc. etc.

I was pretty shocked.

I missed the 60 minutes interview, so I had no idea what was said on it, but to see CNN, and a PNACer like Schneider basically telling the world that Bush is in deep deep doo-doo, I thought "damn, something has changed in the last 24 hours".

Anybody else see this?

1. PNAC is thrown around alot here. Do you have any evidence he's actually
a member? Or even connected tangibally. I know he's an AEI senior fellow, and therefor very likely not close to many peoples politics here, however he's actually not nearly as bad an anylist bias wise as his colleagues Woodruff, Candy Crowley, and Paula Zahn. His analysis is usually pretty unslanted.

3. Unslanted? Are you kidding?

You do watch the same CNN, right?

This is the guy that compared Democrat contenders to a fucking DOGSHOW for Christ sakes...

12. Their is a William Schneider, Jr
connected to PNAC, but if you look at his picture, it's definitely not CNN's Bill Schneider.

2. Saw it...

He bascially just repeated what Woodward said, word for word..

I don't remember him comparing Bush to a dog show. Im sure he has that fine piece of journalism coming up though..(referring to the piece he did comparing democratic contenders to dogs in a dog show)

4. I heard William Kristol on the radio questioning how "engaged" Junior is
He was literally questioning whether Bush was paying adequate attention to what's going on. This from the literal Godfather of the PNAC himself; I almost fainted.

Things aren't going well in conquestland.

5. He left his grand plans to be carried out by an idiot.
This sort of thing is very delicate and very risky. I frankly think it was impossible, but if it was possible, it needed someone very skilled, knowledgable, and lucky.

Unfortunately for him and us, he got George W. Bush, idiot.

6. I know people will slam me for saying this...
...but even Fox has been unusually critical of the President of late.

Not to suggest that they are suddenly becoming "Fair and Balanced," but it is interesting to see even the slightest shift in tone from Fox.

8. This is why I disagree with DUers slamming Woodward --
he doesn't go far enough in the book for us here, but the book is damaging, and he's getting huge mainstream coverage, with his credibility unquestioned.

13. I watched 60 Minutes before my husband did
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 04:59 AM by janeaustin
and I found some of the points more shocking than the ones that had been previewed.

Dearest Husband watched the TiVo of it later and pronounced it "chilling."

I thought I might have been exaggerating my dismay, but I guess not.

11. The CNN one has been associated with the Repugs and
Conservatives for many years...

It ticked me off to no end when he became the MAIN political commentator for CNN.

CNN basically gave up on balance.

If Schneider is saying that about Woodward's book, you can multiply the damage *2.

William Schneider, Jr is a differnet shill for the PNAC

http://rightweb.irc-online.org/ind/schneiderjr/schneiderjr.php

But who gives a shit if it's the PNAC or the AEI... The supposed un-biased CNN Poll analyst certainly is biased towards the Right Wing as witnessed by his association with the AEI.

16. Remember, Bush has served his purpose for PNAC now he is an
embarrassment and screwing up their agenda with his ego-mania. They have carefully crafted these attacks to make it appear that there are just Bush-haters attacking him and the 'liberal media.' They are shrewd and they know that most Americans are just plain self-centered, racists, and stupid. Otherwise, we wouldn't be where we are right now.
