when they remove the number of people killed in accidents and by suicide.

8. That number already accounts for those people..

That number is troops killed in "hostile action"..

And even then, they have to die on the battlefield to be included in that number. If they get shot and die in the helicopter while receiving treatment, they aren't included on the list.

29. Not so.
Even if they make it back Stateside and die of wounds, they're still listed as KIA. I believe lunaville has several listed like this, and if not you can check the DoD press releases.

That's an old Vietnam rumor.

The DOD is playing fast and loose with the numbers, if it wasn't for lunaville they wouldn't release SQUAT

22. Yep. Soviet Pravda
600 "qajdusted down" to 500, with 1000s dead of battlefield injuries uncounted and of course, our brave Mecenary Hessians getting whacked doesn;t count.

This is a bald-faced, odious, and Soviet-style lie.

Although, wew should be used to that by now from the Imperials.

16. I noticed in the last few days, some news readers
seem to be reporting KIA since "the end of major operations" as some 500+.

Of course, truth and accuracy, indeed history itself hold little relevance for aWol, since, as he says "We'll all be dead anyway".

33. Actual total dead in April: 114. Check this site.
And total dead in the war so far: 721.

Get their names and circumstances of death here. It includes those soldiers who die of all causes in Iraq (accidents as well as hostile action deaths.) It also includes those who die of earlier injuries. I find this the most comprehensive site for the numbers.

25. Question: don't they have the actual NAMES of the people killed?
I have seen George Stephanopolous in his in memoriam segment listing the names and whenever possible the pictures of the KIA.

So, how are the American people going to get REALITY in this administration?

General Electric Company
Phone: 203-373-2211
Toll Free: 800-626-2004 (press zero for operator)

Ask for Jeffrey R. Immelt, the CEO, who is a Bush donor.

Ask how 200 American soldiers killed in Iraq suddenly don't count to MSNBC.

28. Are we sure this refers to military dead?
This could be a reference to the figure of 700 civilians killed in Fallujah, and perhaps that's being revised downward to 500 or so. That might be explainable and understandable, given the difficulty of getting an exact count of civilian dead in a chaotic area like Fallujah.

It would not seem possible to make such a revision in the well-documented area of military KIAs.

31. Who DOESN'T the Pentagon consider dead?
I heard that they only count soldiers who actually die in Iraq. If they've been medi-vaced to Germany or back to the States and THEN die, they don't count in the tally.

36. Remember aWol's edict: "No more casualties after March".
Someone slipped up and kept counting during April. This would just be a corrective action to bring official reality into compliance with chickenhawk fantasies.

and ask them to identify which 210 of the 719 soldiers listed there are actually living.

It's funny how you can play around with numbers... until you actually start associating names with those numbers.
