WHO Is Ready To Protest The PRESIDENT With Me???
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 04:37 PM by matcom
President Kerry that is.

Look folks. I have seen WAY too much bullshit on these boards.

A little history (not that it matters). I was a Kerry volunteer for his Senate reelection campaign. Traveled to Boston via train, manned the phone banks, gathered signatures, etc..etc..etc..

I have also marched against the war. Traveled to D.C. with some WONDERFUL DUers to protest October 25, 2002 - BEFORE THE WAR STARTED. Met with DUers in Boston NUMEROUS times to stand on street corners, protest the Chimp when he came for Romney and march in the streets.

I was a Dean man for the nomination. I don't have that choice anymore. No biggie for me as i am FIRMLY ABFUCKINGB!

Now here we are. Kerry is our hope. Kerry has pissed me off (and many of you) but lets get a couple of things straight.

- You thinking of voting for someone OTHER than Kerry? Then you are CERTAIN to get more religon shoved down your throats via your 'elected' government. You think its bad now? Wait until it is ingrained in your public school system and you are preached to on the billboards that dot your highways.

- You thinking of voting for someone OTHER than Kerry? Then you are CERTAIN to lose your right to chose. Think I am talking JUST about a woman's rights? You got a rude awakening coming but obviously THAT is the Big Cahuna.

- You thinking of voting for someone OTHER than Kerry? You got yourself at LEAST 4 more wars a coming. Don't like THIS ONE? Just wait. Maybe there will be one you are more approving of.

- You thinking of voting for someone OTHER than Kerry? I will GUARANTEE you that when Kerry is Elected, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rummy, Pearle, etc... will NEVER run this country again.

- You thinking of voting for someone OTHER than Kerry? Your 'King' will immediately FURTHER your limits when it comes to your 'voice' in this country. LIKE more rubber bullets in the streets? Make your choice.

- You thinking of voting for someone OTHER than Kerry? Frankley the list is endless and for the purposes of this post, I would like to shift focus.

President Kerry will piss me off alot. We KNOW that he backs the Sharone Plan that Bush* has endorsed. Stupid IMHO but this IS NOT an I/P thread. I WILL protest that (you chose your battles on your own).

President Kerry will continue to back the quagmire in Iraq. I protested this war before it started and i WILL NOT back it now. I don't give a shit WHO is in the WH. It is wrong and will always be so. Kerry WILL get my protest.

There will be other things that Kerry will do that will piss of THIS Liberal and I will continue to do what i can to create change in this country. Don't think for one minute that I will automatically remain silent.

HOWEVER. Kerry will turn this economy around, WILL protect a woman's right to chose, WILL engage the International Community in a POSITIVE WAY and WILL do more good for this Nation and World.

We have other voices we can use as influence. Howard Dean has a huge following. Don't care if you liked him or not but he will have a hand in social change in this country and will tap DK, AS and the rest of them. Black, White, Yellow, Brown, etc... There IS a progressive movement that will AT LEAST have a voice. If there is no change, there will be no voice.

Let's face it folks. We KNOW the devil before us and we KNOW that (especially on social issues) he is the most evil, vile, despot and MUST be removed. PERIOD.

You thinking of voting for someone OTHER than Kerry?

You got the guts to protest your own? Might you be heard?

24. Ditto. I missed your post before I posted.
The sentiment is the same. I refuse to go braindead this time like I did last time (Clinton).

While I'll work to get Kerry over the hump, there will be no "honeymoon" once it's done.

Didn't hear the out cry I thought I would on the Senate floor today, and that is pissing me off to the bending end. Only one senator (Ron Wyden) did I hear and that was mild.

11. I was waiting for the same
thing. I heard Ron Wyden, too. Cripes, Orin Hatch talked for 45 minutes. At 4:30, I turned to Crossfire, so I don't know what else happened. By the way, Wayne Newton can kiss my butt.

19. I'm there
As I have said on numerous occasions, I will be voting with my nose clamped firmly shut and then, afterwords, will be getting thoroughly stoned. I do NOT like K*, but we have got to get B* out of office and k* is our only choice to do so.

If k* the pres is the same as k* the anti-war activist, good. If k* is the same as k* the young senator, good. If k* is the same as the neocon k* the presumtive nominee...that's a different story.

22. I'll vote for Kerry all right. And after he wins I'll keep protesting.
Until the Occupation/Colonization of Iraq is OVER. Not a day prior to that either.

Once again, I'll vote for him, but I won't capitulate to mediocrity afterwards.

29. I was debating this in my mind.
I was trying to decide between Kerry and Nader. I liked Nader a hell of a lot more than Kerry, not to mention Nader actually not being afraid to say what he thinks and stand up for what he thinks is right and I was tired of Democrat's views being so dominated by the polls, it was and still is disgusting. I was leaning towards voting for him.

But, I also thought to my self, we also have to get that belligerent, alcoholic, coke-snorting, shit-spewing, self-righteous, egotistical, pusillanimous, war-mongering, and all around evil bastard baboon child of Lucifer out of the goddamn WH before he blows us all to hell or causes someone else to. At all costs. So, I was definately in a quandry.

But I think that you made your point. I'll vote for Kerry. If it means Bu$h will get his red primate-ass booted out of the whitehouse, then so be it. I'll do it, but I won't like it. However, if the Democrats EVER want another vote from me, then they had damn well better stop trying to impersonate their repugnant counterparts. I am so tired of their pandering and hypocrisy. I'll vote democrat for the presidency, but I'll vote green for everything else.
