Bob Woodward called Bush "strong leader" on Larry King tonight
Edited on Fri Apr-23-04 09:05 PM by Eric J in MN
Bob Woodward called Bush a "strong leader" on Larry King tonight.

I disagree.

Bush is powerful, and so is every recent person in the office of the Presidency.

But the word "strong" goes beyond power, to what one does with it.

A train which goes off a cliff shouldn't be described as a "strong" train.

Bush is ruining the economy, ruining civil liberites, and ruining international relations.

Therefore, while Bush is powerful, in a negative way, he isn't "strong."

4. General Burnsides was a storng and popular leader
with the troops, but very innefectual in getting any real and tangible battlefield victories.... and he was described as a strong leader.

So yes, I can see Bush being described as a strong (if innefectual) leader, though just maybe Woodward just dated himself with the use of English

7. STRONG-willed as in intransigent. So's my three year old.
But, she can be reasoned with more often than not. For her it's just a stage. With Bush, I'm afraid that stain was set LONG ago.

8. For Woodward to admit that * is anything but a strong leader
would contradict much of his thesis for his previous book. There he described Whistle Ass as energized and relentless in his quest to rid the world of the evil-doers who perpetrated 9/11. Of course that was nonsense, but it is on the record.

9. "Strong after 9-11."
The media keep repeating this as though it was handed down by Moses. I still don't get it. What has he done that anybody else would not have done better besides start a needless war?
