Time compared Kerry's campaign to Bob Dole.
Time said that Kerry had run a quiet campaign that does not take risks while the Bush campaign runs something similar to poppy's 1988 campaign. Mainly by Democrats who are too timid now or too entrenched in the successes of the past to take chances now. It was not a good comparison and It makes me fearful.

2. Agreed...Kerry is know for his ability to come on strong....
...near the end of the race. Comparing Kerry to Dole? Nonsense! To my knowledge, JK has yet to refer to himself in the third person.

3. It is now April. The election is in November.
Time and the rest of the rags would love for the campaigns to go on endlessly - just one endless loop of campaign coverage - but Kerry is smarter than that.

The campaign will begin in July. It will be conducted on Kerry's timeline, not that of the for-profit excuse for a news media. And not Chimpy's either. He and his team are outclassed and outsmarted by the Kerry team.

For most Americans the campaign has not started. That's right. Our devoted band of political junkies notwithstanding, most people will not pay any attention to the campaign until the convention, and after that, they will wait for the debates. Those events have great potential to seriously move the numbers and lock in support.

So, it is a little premature for Time to be calling Kerry's campaign "quiet", because we haven't seen the campaign yet.

We will just have to wait to see what happens at the convention, and in September and October, and in the debates. But from what I have seen of Kerry so far, he seems very capable of lacing up the gloves and going ten rounds with anyone once the bell rings

6. What should Kerry be doing?

Bush is doing a fine job of going down in flames, why the hell should Kerry be spending tons of money?

Whoever wrote that article is clueless. Clinton was a wildly popular incumbent and Dole never had a chance in hell.
