Navy wants to build Sea bases to launch attacks on other countries
The hidden story inside this news article is that the Imperialism and World domination by building sea bases where the USA armed forces can attack other countries to keeep them in line.

"The plan also calls for development of “sea bases,” built around a fleet of 12 aircraft-carrier-sized cargo ships with flat decks that could launch large cargo planes to deliver equipment to forces ashore.

“Sea basing” has been one of Clark’s major goals for more than two years. The official said Navy leaders have concluded that the problems the United States encountered last year in securing permission to launch attacks on Iraq from Turkey are likely to be repeated in other countries as American forces pursue terrorist groups.

By stationing forces at sea, the United States avoids having to seek permission from other governments to strike at those terrorists, Clark has said. "

4. This is all so laughable. Even with all the money the DOD stole from us
they can never have enough money to build and maintain all these war toys they want, sea bases, star wars, permanent bases in dozens of strategic locations. Especially as our economy is collapsing with debt.

The trillion dollars the DOD "lost" prior to 9-11 can only go so far.

5. So they are ressurecting this idea from the mid-90s
I wonder why it was then put in the backburner?

Maybe it was because back then controling the budget deficit took
priority over lining the pockets of defense contractors...

6. Navy sea bases will be coming soon to an ocean near you
This current administration doesn't seem to worry about money at all. They just give it away and spend it. As if there is a bottomless pit.

And yes sea bases does seem to be something in the near future to allow world domination and control

7. "Sea bases" for the Navy! Shocking?????
This is a non-story, IMO. The Navy always needs bases, and are looking to have 'virtual bases' at sea. No problem.

9. building bases closer to other countries to bomb them is a story
Sorry you don't believe usa aggression is a story especially when they want to build more bases closer to other countries to bomb them.

No other country has bases all over the world like we do to control people. This is alarming in a world where the majority would rather have peace.

World domination PNAC is a big problem for mother earth.

10. Bombing already happens from aircraft carriers
but that's not what the article was talking about. It's talking about ships that can send in troops and supplies with planes, not helicopters, as they use at present.

I think this is as much rivalry of the navy with the air force - they can already use midair refuelling for much the same effect if they need to. But if the proposal goes ahead, it's bound to mean even more military spending - they wouldn't cut back on air force tankers and cargo planes as a result.

8. Just going to be more targets for terrorisim
The only purpose of this plan is to give us more opportunities to bully other nations around. But I guess I'm stating the obvious.
