MoveOn Ad Compares Kerry and Shrub Service Records
Edited on Mon Apr-26-04 12:28 PM by The_Gopher
you can watch the advertisement here:
http://www.moveonpac.org/warrecord/

good stuff. if they want to make this election about what each person was doing from 1966-1972, then let the repukes do that. americans can choose between a man who chased down the enemy in a jungle, or a man who can't face the 9/11 commission on his own.

it's amazing that after all the bad press for AWOL that they would want to raise the issue again. but, they operate on their own logic.

kerry really should take josh marshall's advice and say, "pRez.Bush, stop hiding behind Karen Hughes, and if you have an issue with my service, then let the american people hear it from you. otherwise, STFU."

5. The Move On Ad. is good stuff
I think if the repukes want to spend time comparing Kerry and Bush between 1966 and 1972 Kerry is going to win hands down. A Vietnam silver star winner, a principled opponent to the war, against a guy who spent 6 years chasing tail and falling off bar stools - who would you vote for?

15. Waiting for
the Larry Flint report on that to come out, might push a religious right-winger into running against Bu$h.

6. I had sent a letter to the editor in recently
Speculating as to why Bush seems to have a need to tear down decorated war veterans like John Kerry, John McCain and Max Cleland... my thought was that Bush needs to tear them down so viciously because his own military record is pathetic when compared to real men and that Bush, by his AWOL actions in the past, sending troops into Iraq without proper equipment while slashing veteran's benefits has a total lack of respect for all things military.

9. what's more ridiculous
why won't they scrutinize bush's statements of TODAY as harshly, much less his statements from 33 years ago.
it's the Gore-ing of Kerry. trying to make him out to be a liar. he needs to take command of this and squash it now.

12. Are they allowed to do that?
I thought the PACs weren't allowed to mention a candidate they support by name, only those they opposed. Correct me if I'm wrong.
