CNN Daybreak wants opinions on Fallujah
On if we should fight or talk. So far, the only responses they've read are in favor of fighting. Send them the opposing view here:

1. May be a reason for all this madness but I do not see it.
I do not see where we are making any head way and the Middle East seems to be falling apart in front of us. What are we doing?

2. How about if we..
build a time machine and go back to 2000 and make sure all the votes get counted.

Seems like as sane a solution as either of those options.

3. Done.

Said that the iron boot of imperialism rarely has been effective...
and that one could ask the Persians, Greeks, Romans, French under
Napoleon, or the Germans how well an empire forged in the fire
of battle worked out for them.

Yes, we can win, but so what? Will we go back in a year or two and
put down the next insurgency, and the one after that? If we go home
then versus now, what will be the difference?

I added: If Iraq want democracy, then they must fight for it,
otherwise they will not value it.

4. Were the anchors waving pom poms as they read
the emails? When Gallup shows *'s numbers climbing in the wake of this, I'm sure we'll be hearing a huge sigh of relief from the whores.

5. So far

every email read on air has been "If they want to fight, then WE should
show them what that means" and other cheat beating fooraw.

Only one even sounded the slight bit moderate... and NONE have suggested
how the hell we get out of there (peace with honor or whatever).

6. Done: I sent this
Saddam is gone. There never were any WMD's. Saddam had NOTHING to do with 9/11, and Al Qaida were enemies of Saddam's! So what in the hell are we doing over there? Why do our soldiers have to massacre Iraqis, or die trying? What would we do if some country came over here and deposed our leader, and then started setting up shop to take over our national resources, telling our citizens what to do, and what kind of government we should have? We'd be fighting in the streets, ourselves, and with good cause. Just like the Iraqis are doing! Leave them alone! The international community will step in when the U.S. gets out. Bank on it! And bring our soldiers HOME!

:kick:

9. Our Leerless Feeder
stated that the current reason to invade and occupy Iraq is that
it is his GOD GIVEN MISSION to spread democracy to the far reaches
of the world.

Provided, of course, that those far reaches have plentiful natural
resources that we might need (shhhhh...)

Lot's of people talk to God, in Bush's case, God answers.

8. They're still muddling the issue with talk of sovereignty
I don't get CNN Daybreak over here in Spain, but last night I was watching the bombardment of Fallujah on CNN-International and they kept showing this note at the bottom of the screen, "U.S. to Return Sovereignty June 30." That is misleading. Colin Powell has already confirmed what knowledgeable people already knew, that this sovereignty would be very limited. And even after elections scheduled for next year you can bet that Iraqis won't be getting their own oilfields back.

10. I suspect

that a high resolution overhead spy shot would show that the
bulk of the US armor divisions and the bulk of th 125,000 soldiers
are protecting the oil fields. We sure don't have them spread
all over the country nor are they in Fallujah or the other hot spots.

11. I see this as the start of the end for us not them.
The world is in a mood for self govt and being ruled by a super power is a gone by thing. We have seen it since WW2 as it has moved all over the world. We can not stop it plus saying we believe in it as we do Empire building. It is silly.

Sending anything remotely describing our horror at the attack on Fallujah and Bremer's deliberate baiting of al Sadr to stir up the situation will NOT get read on the air.

They just want to hear from "real "Muricans." A ploy to get their old customers back.

14. Done
I sent a mail with sentiments similar to loudsue's: Bring our troops home from this war of Bush's hubris.

God, CNN is sickening. If it weren't for Air America my head would explode.
