Take that, "my country right or wrong" freepers!

TEHRAN (Reuters) - "An Iranian court has ruled the United States should pay $600 million in compensation for supplying ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) with chemical weapons, the official IRNA news agency said on Wednesday."

2. Well heck, we can't be bothered to pay reparations for
slavery and genocide of the natives in our own country. Of course we won't shell out $$ to another one.

unfortunately, even tho the claim is legit, nobody cares what the government of Iran thinks.
Specially us.
lord forbid everyone find out we give people WMDs and other arms. oh wait, everybody else in the world already knew that.

4. Someone sued Iran in this country years ago and won in court.
Even at that time sanctions were in existence against Iran and the government had seized or frozen Iranian assets. The government was resisting any effort to collect by going against the Iranian assets the government controlled.

A friend of mine was a frequent bidder at military auctions. Several heavy duty International trucks came up for bid about that time. The odd thing about the trucks is that they were brand new, never used but they were several years old. Turned out they had been bought and paid for by Iran but seized before they could be shipped. I've wondered if the government sold them off to prevent from being taken as part of the judgment.
