Toomey/Specter race map
Specter in blue, Toomey in red. Interesting, it looks like Specter won the most wingnutty parts of the state. What does this show?

2. hrm...
so Toomey - The Congressmen from PPL... er... the Lehigh Valley won The Lehigh Valley, Pittsburgh (santorum country), Lancaster, and the coal region.

Specter won everything else....

7. yes, because...
the PA GOP understands that PA, is overall, "Moderate".

only the loons wanted toomey. toomey would have been toast in the general election. specter still may be, but its more likely he will hold strong.

pretty much, the only chance hoeffel has is if the toomey-loons decide to stay home in protest of specter.

its like the dem/green divide - the loons will cut off their own nose to spite the face.

11. Actually they use a mix of voting technologies......
.....from old lever machines to DRE's, But NO DIEBOLD DRE's! They do however use punch cards and Optical Scan machines. I wonder what the Central Tabulation software is?

See |this page for details.

5. County numbers can be found here:
http://web.dos.state.pa.us/perl/elections/elec_results/dsf/county2.cgi?eyear=2004&etype=P&office=USS

Admittedly the site's a tad messed up, but I think the numbers are fairly accurate.

10. I am surprised about Pittsburgh
Last November, there was a major anti-Republican showing.

Pittsburgh is not "Toomey country." It's just that Toomey's voting base (wackos) were the people who bothered to participate in democracy yesterday. The weather was awful, turnout was bad, so I guessed Psycho Toomey was going to have a strong showing because of it, not because he is a popular guy here.

That is a micro-analysis, but something smells VERY fishy about this. Yeah, we have Scaife here, but there is a lot of anti Bush and anti-Santorum sentiment.

I hope this is a (yet another) wake up call to people in PA -- get off your butt and work for Democrats, and get your non-voting friends to REGISTER and get to the polls in November. Because the flying monkeys are going to be doing it for the Chimpire.
