Gergen says Big Dog's book will help dems
especially when Clinton gets all the air time while promoting it.

On Countdown now.

3. Gergen says Kerry needs a surrogate to help him fend off the Repubs
and Clinton is more than capable of the job.

7. I'm not a Gergen fan, but he has worked both sides of the street...
...and with the exception of Max Cleland, I can't immediately think of any Kerry surrogates willing to pull out the hatchets.

2. Maybe people will remember what its like to have a sane and
intelligent president.

I've almost forgotten, to tell the truth.

On the other hand, the comparison between Clinton ( a charmer) and Kerry (who is quite dull) could be bad.

5. I actually do not find Kerry at all dull ...
He has a presence that is striking and such an authoritative tone of voice that he is compelling in the one-on-one interviews. In fact, his stump ain't half bad either.

13. Pepperbelly--I so agree. I could scream when the media talks about
him being cold, aloof and too long winded. Long time ago I was spell bound listening to him. He's passionate and concise. But then I remember that this is the same shit they laid on Gore to destroy him. I imagine it's the criticism we will hear 'after' the debates (already written) and George will be such a common man of the people in his speakin' ability. I really could listen to Kerry for hours.

4. This is what I'm hoping
I'm hoping that it will reflect his reported "obsession for catching OBL and al Qaeda" (enabling contrast between *'d do-nothing approach), and highlight the resistance he faced from Congress whenever he tried to take action.

If the book were ambiguous or harmful to our cause, I would hope that Clinton would have delayed its release until after the election.

10. After seeing Clinton's speech several weeks ago
at that Dem meeting, have to say that I think Clinton will do Democrats a lot of good. He is a wonderful speaker, will get lots of tv time to be persuasive on how important it is to be Democratic, and I look forward to it. He's GONNA do it and if it inspires people, why not?

11. Therefore, his book should not be released until late September
Closer to the elections. That will give little time for the attack dogs to attack.

12. He's right!
I don't see how anything about his memoirs could be seen as negative, especially with Thugs trying to blame everything on Bill. He SHOULD defend his record and let it be known that failures they try to pawn off on him are not his.

14. It's time for Clinton to help. And about the comparison to Kerry -
Kerry may not be dull, but he is very cautious - Senator-like cautious.

I'm beginning to think it's a good idea to go from the governership to candidate for President - there is less of that need not to offend or something! And Clinton has always shown originality in presenting his ideas - he talks to people - he measure his audience - he never uses stiff English.
