33% of Americans still thing that Saddam was behind 9/11
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/04/28/opinion/polls/main614605.shtml

"Asked to name the U.S.’ most important accomplishment in Iraq, Americans overwhelmingly point to one thing that was accomplished a year ago: the ousting of Saddam Hussein. 57 percent volunteer this accomplishment and mention Saddam by name, while 5 percent cite fighting terrorism. 7 percent insist the U.S. has accomplished nothing at all.

More than a third of Americans still believe that Saddam was personally involved in the 9/11 attacks on America, though the figure is down from its high of 53 percent one year ago. Slightly more than half say there are still unfound weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

In all, just 33 percent of Americans believe the war in Iraq has been worth its costs, and 58 percent say it was not. This is little changed from earlier this month; last summer, Americans were divided on the question."

Also, Dick Cheney's favorable rating is now 27%, and "right track" is at 36%.

6. These are hardcore Bushies...
Some of these folks would say they believed it even if they really didn't just to show support for the * and his war. The WMD believers are more troubling.

7. That's less then the number that think the world is 6,000 year old.
So even complete fucking idiots know that Saddam had nothing to do with 9-11.

9. That is indeed an EXCELLENT point
it means that at least some people who think that the world is 6000 years old have figured out that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. That has to be taken as extremely encouraging.

10. I never know for sure with you
And that's a good thing, usually, but is that a genuine number? If so, that's funny and sad.

Then again, for most Republicans, the world may as well have started on their birthday and end on their deaths.

8. Well that's the best news I've had for some time............
What happened to the other 28164010% who just yesteday believed Saddam "did" 9/11??? My God education couldn't be seeping into their brains---Dick, you better get on top of this and stop the thinking!!! Like the "not worth it" numbers, etc. Why do I have the feeling that the next set of numbers over the weeks will be "BUT the American people say that 98% will vote for Bush" 'cause he may be a lying sack of shit who couldn't follow a road map if his wife read it to him but hot damn, HE'S OUR MORON--GO USA USA........

11. Keep in mind how hard it is
To turn around those numbers. When people have little info on a topic, poll numbers can swing wildly as new facts are revealed. But this is what people believe after learning more and more facts. Those opinions are harder to change.
