Kerry hypocrisy in VP search
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 08:43 PM by politmuse1
For 4 years Kerry has held an open grudge against Al Gore presumably for publicizing the names of the finalists for the VP choice. He pledged not to do the same. Excuse me, but what exactly is the difference, when we all know that Edwards, Gephardt, and Vilsack are undergoing background checks? Sounds like semantics to me. Seems like Kerry's TRUE grudge was that he wasn't the one picked.

Moreoever, according to today's news, "Kerry’s vice presidential team is headed by Jim Johnson and includes some of the same lawyers or law firms that helped then-Vice President Al Gore choose a running mate in 2000."

I don't see him doing anything different from Al Gore. What a hypocrite. (And yes, I will kill myself to help him defeat Bush. What sick times we live.)

6. what the hell are you talking about?
first, prove that Kerry "held an open grudge" for four years. Second, prove that HE leaked the names. Third, calm the fuck down - geez, you'll never make it to November.

I won't go into a long debate about the grudge. Kerry has been quoted numerous times about his displeasure about the process in 2000, and has not missed an opportunity to bash Gore. I can't "prove" anything beyond that. And I can't prove he leaked the names. But who the heck cares who leaked what? Obviously his people are involved, and the candidates for VP are holding their breaths -- and will do so until July. And there's nothing wrong with that, either. If you can't stand the heat ... you know what they say. But Kerry whined like a baby about the exact same thing. And this is the best man we have to go against the Bush/Rove machine?

As for calming down, don't lecture me please. These are not times to be calm about anything.

20. and still
not a lick of evidence that a) Kerry held an "open grudge" against Gore for four years or that b) Kerry had anything to do the press reporting on the activities of his Vice-Presidential recruiter.

And yes, these are times to be calm - calm doesn't mean dead. It just means you think things through and behave clearly.

7. this is kind of inside baseball isn't it?
it's like the thing with Gore not telling Lieberman he was endorsing Dean. Who, other than Lieberman, cares?

as the ones you mention, some crazy (McCain, Rudman, Brokaw).
When the choice is made, if the disappointed hopefuls get it from the janitor, you'll be right. If they get it in a classier way, you are wrong.
And, in the sick times we live, sorry, but who the f* cares anyway?

11. Check out LBN--LA Times is speculating it's Evan Bayh because of
a D.C. office fire drill that had Bayh and Johnson coming out of Kerry's office together. Tomorrow it will be Jessie Ventura and the day after that it will be Colin Powell and the day after that....you get the picture. Happens all the time.

16. BabsSong was making a point, the media is coming up with names, not Kerry
he's keeping his mouth shut but of course the media is going to dig and search for names to leak. Nothing is this definete so early on.
