4. After watching him drool for 20 odd years
She may not be as enamored of his image as his more distant fans.

She loved him. But it's hard to share a bathroom and think a man is god.

2. Hmmm....
Maybe even Nancy is getting tired of everything being named Reagan.

Was it to sit at the corner of Reagan Ave. and Reagan Boulevard?

5. oddly enough, she has been shooting down a lot of these things
Also spoke out against the Reagan dime.

Maybe she just wants to let her husband live out his final years in peace.

Kind of refreshing, really. Especially astonishing from her.

6. Maybe she sees this as "political" and considering what the
Republican Party has evolved into , as of late (ala george & dick), she'd like her Ronnie to be rememberd in a more favorable light.

10. agree..not wanting to be associated with the bush crime family

and doesn't want george to capitalize on Ronnie's better name.
Maybe she doesn't appreciate how bush Sr. "used" Reagan during his term.
She saw more abuse of power than most of know.

Maybe after Ronnie's gone, she'll have her OWN tell-all book. Exposing some of the nasty truths about george 1, babs and their criminal dealings concerning Iran-Contra.

It would be interesting.

8. She has always been protective of him
& I think she knows there are a lot of jerks trying to use him for their own purposes.

She is just trying to keep him from being exploited.

And she was never a neo-con.

9. What a flippin' joke!
Ronald Reagan University. Well, let's see....what's in the course catalog?

1) How to use astrology and win

2) How to create gigantic fiscal deficits in 2 short years

3) How to gut your social programs in the shortest time

4) How to build the world's mightiest military arsenal and take credit for dismantling the Soviet Union.

5) How to turn a once decent party which believed in fiscal responsibility into lunatic spenders

6) How to be really evil and have a goofy smile on your face

11. Well...
The fact is that it is very creepy to be trying to name things after a person who isn't dead yet. She probably just got sick of him being treated like a historical institution as opposed to as a still living and breathing human being. I think all of the attempts to deify him have backfired because I think he is perceived as more of an empty shell than ever before.
