i'll try. his two guests were brilliant, expert, and although i understood everything they were saying, i feel quite inadequate to expound on it. couldn't find a link, not even on cnbc tv website. one guest was the author of Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and Bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001 by the name of Steven Coll. the other was the author of The Future of Freedom by the name of by Fareed Zakaria. they explained EVERYTHING, in depth, in detail, and it was absolutely fantastic. that's the best i can do. i give it 5

edited: correction to The Future of Freedom by Fareed Zakaria.
i knew i was going to make a mistake.

i get too excited, make mistakes. tried to look it up before posted but cnbc (msnbc was subconscious error) didn't give any info, and couldn't remember fareed zakaria's name, and book title. it was good, wasn't it, and i was flabbergasted that 'tim russert' seemed to be getting it. i kept saying "duh". :hi:

Russert has a Saturday night show on CNBC and MSNBC where he interviews people as well. Thst is presumedly what this person is talking about but the guests aren't listed on my cable's guide.

52. I wish I had seen it Steven Coll and Fareed Zakaria are so smart they
can make the hard to understand seem understandable (much like in a lot of classes I took in the 50's and 60's - the only problem is once you leave the room you lose the A to B to C of the logic - so one must study!).
But I do like the feeling that I understand what they are talking about - if only for the hour!

40. I'm indeed pissed!! Here in Midland I get Cox Cable
Edited on Sun May-02-04 08:08 AM by 0007
I don't know if this program is blocked by Cox or the the local station.
CNBC is showing "Kudlow & Cramer" 6:00 - 6:30 CST and at 6:30 to 7:00 CST Chris Mathew. "Topic A With Tina Brown" (Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.): actor Steve Martin at 7:00 CST

The PBS station here, KOCV, blocks anything from the left , especially much of Charlie Rose.

I'll have to get a friend to tape it for me. Thanks for the heads up Bozita.

51. Yes, I do not recall having heard that Israel helped fund Hamas.
And considering the billions we US taxpayers pour down that hole, it may take a forensic accountant to tell whether US dollars funded Hamas.

The CIA has frequently worked as a venture capital investor in revolutionary organizations, domestic and foreign. For complicated reasons, I'm sure.

37. A really good show Paradise. It did hit home that there is
very little time left to correct the Iraq situation. And that if Bush stubbornly stays the course he is on, we will lose. Both men agreed that the only way to save Iraq is to meet with Sistani and the other clerics and turn Iraq governance over to trusted Iraqis. If we turn over Iraq to a puppet government, Iraq is lost.

And there is so much potential here if we did this right.

64. I watched it at 7p and 10p pdt
the first time, I was blown away by Joseph Wilson... I saw it a second time to make sure I saw what I saw 3 hours earlier.

I was like "what an American!!!!" Right on, Mr. Wilson--you rock!

He nailed the perpetrators of this treasonous crime to the wall... yes, Dick Cheney is a SOB; Rove should be frog-marched out in handcuffs; Rice is a liar; Bush isn't in charge, he has a subordinate staff, is incompetant. Novak should be fired from CNN and sued within an inch of his life.

Wilson was right--dragging his wife out into the public square to beat her in front of everyone because they didn't like what he has said is beyond the pale.
