5. I disagree, Allen.
I despise the man's administration and think he is a travesty and a disgrace as president. But saying he enjoyed the torture photos is beyond the pale. I can't disagree strongly enough.

He's a liar, and an arrogant, imperialistic asshole, and believes he can do no wrong, but -- no. He's doing our country grave harm, but he's not this kind of monster.

9. You should go back and look at some of his speeches
especially that recent interview of Meet the Press. He just lights up whenever he talks about war and/or death. When he talks about the economy or domestic issues, he's much more serious. When he says the word war, he gets all giggly and happy.

Anyone you could sit on his ass, knowing that 1000's of Americas were being killed while he stalled and did nothing, is proof he is one of the worst monsters in history.

16. He's not the only one who's pushing that -- these are two separate things.
Let the dogpile begin. I have the tiniest bit of faith that there might be a little regret somewhere in that man's shriveled soul for what he started -- although he thinks his war is just, it's not impossible that there might be a twinge somewhere in there for what the sick fucking freaks did to their prisoners. He knows he started that.

If y'all want to dogpile on me for having a tiny little bit of hope that most every man is somewhat redeemable, have at it.

I think that sometimes we liberals lose control of our ire and imagine that * is possible of the ugliest, the very worst, that any man can ever do to another man merely because we despise him. IMO it's wrong to do so.

31. I'm not trying to give him any credit. He deserves none. He started
what we see in these horrid pictures. Isn't that enough to hate him for -- we have to pile on more and more and more to make him look worse? That's not even possible, and IMO the accusation that he enjoyed looking at the photos worsens the tense atmosphere we live in today.

We're cool, Allen. Thanks for blanking out # 23. (Me? "doe-eyed?" And toward *?? Them's fightin' words, pal . . . . ;))

Time for me to go and chill out before bed. Maybe a beer. . . . this fucking administration has got to go. My heart can't take it.

30. I have to disagree
I don't believe he took pleasure in the torture pics. That's going too far. However, I don't believe he really felt "disgusted" by them, I think he felt more disgusted with the fact that this is causing an uproar in Iraq.

32. He is a WORSE kind of monster. In many ways, amoral is worse than
immoral.

There is not a scintilla of redeeming value in G.W. Bush. None whatsoever. There are as yet no adjectives coined to adequately describe the depravity of this quasi-human piece of offal. His very existence is an affront to the planet he, with the assistance of others, infects. I do not dare write what I would do if I had the opportunity to have a private meeting with this desicable son of a bitch.

"This is not the way we do things in America." - so says President Stupid.

"Well, apparently this is the way we do things in Iraq." - says I, sarcastically.

Bush's tone sounded, to my ears, restrained with glee over these photos. It was almost as though he wished he could have been there wrestling naked, Skull&Bones style, with these prisoners.

EDIT: I am serious. This observation is derived from data I have collected over the course of his term. Bush speaks with fewer stumbles and with greatest directness when he is threatening people. He stumbles when he speaks compassionately or appears to feign outrage over an event. Such was the case with the photo crisis. It's Bush's schadenfreude all the way with this one.

Whether Bush enjoyed the pics or not. (Wouldn't want to mess up that warped "beautiful" mind philosophy.) What I do know is, he knew about it and did nothing to stop the torture going on since, some say, last Sept.

As acting CIC, he needs be held accountable.

15. PHOTO of wolfowitz and general karpinski 'touring' Abu Ghraib prison
Edited on Sat May-01-04 09:46 PM by amen1234
this always struck me as very weird, considering all the other pressing problems in Iraq that wolfowitz should be dealing with on his very-brief and infrequent visits....why did he go to this prison?...there's lots more to this horror....the torture was condoned and possibly filmed for higher level officials...everybody knew about it and wallowed in it AND encouraged it...more to come...this story is not over....

U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, center left, accompanied by U.S. Brig Gen. Janice Karpinski, left, tours Iraq (news - web sites)'s Abu Ghraib prison on the outskirts of the capital Baghdad in this July 20, 2003 file photo. Images were shown on America's CBS television programme ' 60 Minutes II ' on Wednesday April 28 , 2004 which allegedly showed abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. military police at the Abu Ghraib prison late

and this photo is proof. If I were not so tech-inept I would send it to every media outlet. July 20, 2003 is when the atrocities and rapes were happening, he was there. HE KNEW.

18. I was at a restaurant tonight laughter about photos at bar
I was at a restaurant tonight and it's a sports bar type place.

The horse race was tuned in and then afterwards the local news came on.

Apparently there was footage of an Iraqi being dragged behind a truck and three very fat very bald 20 or 30 somethings sitting at the bar were laughing their big butts off over the footage.

I don't know what all was said but I heard things like kick ass, level the place etc etc

It was quite vile and it was all I could do to not ask those three idiots why their fat asses were watching it on TV instead of serving under their little fuhrer.

This whole country has gone crazy...who the hell wrote the child rearing books for the parents of that age group when they were kids?
Whoever they are they should be drawn and quartered IMO

But yeah, I'll bet bush loved the photos and video footage.

25. nazi germany....and it's just one small step until they come for
you and me...

the reactions of many Americans is very frightening...it reflects the last three years of bush* perpetual terror PR indoctrination....hitler's goebbels would be so proud of bush*....

yet, most do not even notice the danger...just typically happy slugs watch their TV sets...not even noticing that their civil rights are already gone.....

it always amazed me how hitler did it...turned a whole nation into monsterous killers...killing their own neighbors.....

just the other day, I heard on CNN that 10 % of all Americans had ratted off their neighbors under asscroft's U.S.A.P.A.T.R.I.O.T act and were proud enough to admit it....ten percent !!!!

vote for Kerry...take back America....

I have spoken up until I am blue in the face and believe me I have been brought nothing but grief as a result.

Apparently when Linda Tripp said "I am you" to these vile creatures she wasn't too far off base.

It is disturbing but evidently about 40% of the citizens of this country are blood thirsty psychopaths.

a woman just had a baby and has a two year old. she said didnt care about that stuff "politics". told her, now taking care of babies and are tired but as they get older you are going to care, cause it is going to be them suffering repercussions of what we are creating for them today,.

noticed voice was a little low and strong and forceful, had to back off some

no hold bar any more, i keep my mouth shut from no one. if in all the bluntness i get one person to think, that is the way it has to be.

lets remember the 97 year old woman handcuffed and arrested in texas while driving to the beuaty shop.
