eom (?) bailed me out. You could have some fun with chimp quotes mixed in with Floyd songs. Better yet, come out with a new CD dedicated to chimp.

4. Yep, I bet he's working on it as we type
And in banks across the world
Christians Moslems Hindus Jews
And people of every
Race creed colour tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The racoon and the groundhog
Neatly make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range
Christ is freezing inside
The veterans cries
The hyenas break cover
And stream through the meadow
And the fog rolls in
Through his bottle of gin
So he picks up a stone
That looks like a bone
And the bullets fly
And the rivers run dry
And the fat girls sigh
And the network anchor persons lie
And the soldier's alone
In the video zone
But the monkey's not watching
He's slipped out to the kitchen
To pile the dishes
And answer the phone

(Towers of Faith)
And in New York City
The business man in his mohair suit
In the world trade center
Puffs on his cheroot
And he said,
Well I don't care who owns the desert sands
My brief
Is with the hydrocarbons underneath
And the sea of battle rages
Around the ancient tombs
And mother nature licks her wounds
And the lonely boys locked in their towers of faith
Who are nervous in the park
When the gates are closed after dark

9. I'd like to hear that one, but I doubt he's working on it
On that subject, I think he said it all in Amused To Death - I can't see Roger rehashing ideas he's already done. He is, though, interested in human rights these days as I understand it, so maybe he's got something in the works on related topics.

8. Here's a 9/11 video tribute with Roger's Music on it
Edited on Sun May-02-04 12:30 AM by Cronus
It's 69 megs with high quality audio, so this is only for those with a lot of bandwidth....

For best results, right-click and choose "save target as":

Roger Waters & Waking Born WTC Tribute From BrainScream.com

There's another copy here in case that one doesn't work:

Roger Waters & Waking Born WTC Tribute From TeleRadioStereo.it

10. I think of Cheney and Rumsfeld and all the other chickenhawks
every time I hear "The Bravery of Being out of Range".

Seriously, I just discovered this album last year and while it does make "The Wall" seem like Jimmy Buffet it is a great primer for what we're watching in Washington and the Middle East. The Chimp thing was wickedly prophetic.

Speaking of chickenhawks, I will leave you with a little taste of a tune for our times in "The Bravery of Being Out of Range"...

".....Hey bartender over here
two more shots
and two more beers
Sir turn up the TV sound
The war has started on the ground
Just love those laser guided bombs
They're really great
for righting wrongs
You hit the target
and win the game
From bars 3,000 miles away
3,000 miles away
We play the game
With the bravery of being out of range
We zap and maim
With the bravery of being out of range...."

Do you think we should suggest this as the Bush Administration official theme song?
