DemocraticUnderground Activists Distort TVC Marriage Poll
this may be old news..please lock(mods)if that is the case..but found it very interesting anyhow..

DemocraticUnderground.com Skews TVC Poll On Same-Sex Marriage
by Rev. Louis P. Sheldon
Chairman, Traditional Values Coalition

Washington, DC - Activists who are participating in the Democratic-Underground.com's online forum are urging their fellow leftists to vote often in a poll that the Traditional Values Coalition posted on its web site two weeks ago. Our poll asked the following question: "Would you vote for a presidential candidate who supports same-sex marriage or civil unions?"

The goal of these Democrats, of course, is to skew the results of the poll in their favor by having hundreds of liberals vote 10-20 times each.

A review of the forum and of the DemocraticUnderground web site home page, reveals a rather paranoid view of the world and an irrational hatred of President Bush and conservatives. One of the features on this site is called "The Top Ten Conservative Idiots" and lists President Bush, Senate Republicans, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and others as "idiots." One wonders who the real idiots are. The site lists "January 26, 2003" as its current date.

The comments made about TVC's poll in the DemocraticUnderground forum reveal a disturbing, flexible morality. One activist noted with glee: "I voted ten times" on the TVC poll. Another said, "I tried and I thought it was working, but then I realized that it was just registering other peoples votes and that it wasn't registering my multiple votes. If they're stupid enough to make a poll where you can vote twice, I'm going to vote, I'm going to vote often."

One would hope that individuals voting in an online poll would have the personal integrity to vote only once-not multiple times. However, the individuals who consider themselves part of the extreme left of the Democratic Party obviously have no such objections to dishonesty in voting. I wonder if this same Clintonian morality extends to voting in the upcoming presidential election? Will members of the DemocraticUnderground "vote often" this November

2. We hate 'your' president...
...as much as you hated ours (Clinton).

Unlike you, Rev. Lou, we really don't like facism. And your 'family values' organization does not express the kind of 'family values' I would really want to teach my family, unless I want my kids to have serious psychological issues down the road.

3. Could it be...
... that even among their own group there are some who do not get apoplectic at the very thought of same sex marriage?

Ah, well, Rev., no internet poll is scientifically accurate. No need to cry in your soup just yet.

4. Yup reverand, Who's the bigger idiot - Bush or the people who vote for
him?? The poll wasn't even accurate, because John Kerry doesn't support same sex marriage. But you will not hear that anywhere in the Religious Right media outlets.

5. It's not our fault
that they don't know how to set up an online poll so that it can't be freeped.

6. We all only vote once...

..as far as I know! So, if you don't want the public voting in your polls, don't make them available to the public.

7. If you don't want people voting, don't have a poll
And if you have a poll out there, keep in mind people won't always vote the way you want them to.

Crybabies!

8. We just got dissed by Lou Sheldon. This is a badge of honor.
Lou Sheldon is your typical right wing bigoted religious homophobe. A pin headed, creationist loving, brain dead piece of shit who spews hatred. Typical anti-gay marriage person.

Lou didn't mention the number of right wingers who voted multiple times when they saw they poll was going the opposite direction as intended. And then there's this:

"A review of the forum and of the DemocraticUnderground web site home page, reveals a rather paranoid view of the world and an irrational hatred of (P)resident Bush and conservatives."

Irrational? I have yet to read ANYTHING on DU that I would consider irrational. Theories are tossed around, polls done, and yes, there's plenty of criticism but I haven't found any of it irrational. It seems it only becomes irrational when it points out your group's hypocrisy and outright lies. You sure didn't complain about paranoia when your side wasted tax payer money on an $80 Million Cock hunt!

Lou, you and your ilk are nothing more than nits on the head of humanity and I intend to do my best to keep you and your parasites from infesting the rest of our country.

I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK!!!

(Whew) I'm better now.

11. All I Needed To Vote Was Once
All I needed to vote was once in your poll, "Preacher" Sheldon. I will vote against George Deucey-U Bush again in November and against his Banana Republican supporters. And if you think I'm voting Democratic because I don't want to live in the sort of class ridden-kleptocracy that the Republican Party and its "Conservative" allies wants to make of the USA, a class-ridden kleptocracy like many third-world republics, for once you'd be exactly right.

:kick:

12. Kleptocracy. A word whose time has come!
Thanks for recharging that term for my lexicon. That really describes this regime at this point. There's not even a shred of moral decency left.

13. yes reverand,
I vote when notified on DU about these polls (only once though). I agree that I follow the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth in not condemning or judging people instead of right wing prejudice and hate induced activism of those that pretend to speak for God.

17. Personal integrity
*HUMPH* What do they know about my personal integrity?

I was not even tempted to check if their 'Rate this Article' poll would allow me to rate it at 1 more than once.

18. Clinton morality????
>I wonder if this same Clintonian morality extends to voting in the upcoming presidential election? Will members of the DemocraticUnderground "vote often" this November

WTF?

How could we "Vote Often" in November??
Maybe he has fears that BBV will provide us with such an option?

And the bit about Clinton?? Would we have sex with our interns (which was CONSENSUAL SEX and a PRIVATE MATTER)
and then try to hide it from our WIFE...?

How on earth does this relate to their poll?
They keep on pumping Clinton into everything, don't they??

A word for this reverend.... Clinton's term is over.
Forgetaboutit.

and... how does he know that his poll was voted down by DU?
Stats on the site?
This guy's an idiot.
