Schwarzenegger (says): Stop making bobblehead dolls

http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/05/01/arnold.doll.ap/index.html

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is trying to stop two Ohio brothers from making and selling bobblehead dolls in his likeness.

A thousand of the Schwarzenegger dolls were produced in part for charity about a month ago by Ohio Discount Merchandise run by Todd and Toby Bosley. They feature the governor in a suit with an ammo belt and machine gun.

"He wants the doll terminated," said Todd Bosley, the company's president.

The governor's law firm, Lavely & Singer, sent Bosley a letter demanding he immediately stop making and selling the dolls, deliver any remaining dolls to their offices and make a substantial payment to Schwarzenegger.

-snip-

The Bosleys' business gets about $1.50 per doll, while a fund that provides grants for cancer research gets $5 per the doll. The sale price is $19.95 each.
-snip-
---------------------------------------

the Bosley brother's best seller is Anna Nicole Smith, second is Jesus.

wonder what the Bosley Jesus looks like?

Goodness, Arnold is getting sensitive. doesn't mind showing his penis to the world but gets upset over a bobble doll?

or was it the suit/gun that got him atwitter?

suit/guns get me angry.

1. He's now an elected public figure, how can he sue?
I mean, does Bush own his image? No way. This is very interesting legal ground.

If he were a "Movie Star" he could control his image despite being a public figure. But as an elected public figure he loses that protection... poor control freak is going to go ape.

6. Livey and Singer need to be fired if they can't explain to him
that he has no legal standing to make them stop.

He's now an elected, public servant, now, not an actor with an image to protect. He should have thought about that before running for office..

Hey, Groper! Learn some American law, first, before letting people talk you into running for something for which your skin isn't thick enough.

3. Oh goody. Jesse Redux...
Jesse was 'it's all about me' as well.

But Schwarzzie can't protect his image. Not once it becomes public. Other politicians' countenances get used all over the place... Gee, you think that a guy who knew something about the system would run for office. Oh well...

:nopity:

5. He also asked
a Portland brewing company to stop making Governator Ale which they made before he became governor. They stopped - who knows why. He seems to be a spoiled asshole - mmmm - just like GW.

7. Maria put him up to it
"Schwarzenegger became aware of the doll when his wife, Maria Shriver, visited a Washington gift shop, according to the brothers. She was offended and asked the shopkeeper to remove it from the shelves."

Of all people. Maria needs to eat something before making an idiotic, hunger-induced scene.
