Franken Says He'll Likely Challenge Coleman in '08
Comedian and liberal talk show host Al Franken puts the odds of a 2008 bid for the U.S. Senate at better than fifty-fifty.

Franken told The Associated Press he's considering a challenge against Republican Senator Norm Coleman of Minnesota. The 52-year-old Franken says he'll make a decision by the end of next year.

6. Did Al Franken shove you in a mud puddle as children together?
Man... do you have it out for Al Franken. Did you grow up in the same neighborhood and he threw rocks at you, or pushed you in a mud puddle in 1st grade or something?

9. No, I don't have it out for Al Franken.
In fact, I've said that his show on AAR is my favorite one in their lineup. However, I'm not sure if he's the kind of person who's cut out for politics, or if he could win an election. He kind of has a demeanor that leaves him open for criticism as a "silly entertainer" or an "elitist".

The idea of celebrities in politics in general kind of puts me off. Just look how successful Bono, Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been.

3. That would be sweet!
I hate that horse-face Norm Coleman. :puke:

Anyone who says "I'm twice the man that Paul Wellstone was" deserves a good beating. :grr:

7. He's very well-informed
One thing I am impressed by with most of the AAR hosts is that they really are on top of the issues. They're partisan, of course, but they are also able to answer questions of fact with ease.

I'd like them to start calling out the lying liars on Clear Channel to debate facts.

11. its a good idea
but if Minnesota is trending republican as it appears to be, Al is going to have a hard time winning IMO, but I will be rooting for him.
