12. They want the story
Edited on Sun May-02-04 09:59 PM by PaDUer
to go AWAY. After all, they can't let the people know and see the truth.
-edit-They were so PO'd when the pix of the caskets were shown. They go w/ the phrase, "hear no evil, see no evil". This story MUST remain at the top of ALL newscasts. Continue w/ the emails, faxes, phone calls to ALL media outlets, including your local news and local talk shows.

16. It was my joke-- I watch them too.
I should have used a better example, like a report on the Scott Peterson trial. The reason that post wasn't better is that I too last night was watching the Simpsons, while typing posts at DU!!

LOL

6. We don't do body counts
Oh, wait, that is Iraqi body counts.

I think we may have reached that unfortunate point in this conflict where 11 deaths just isn't "news" anymore.

8. Just wait until little bush* and his buddies come for their kids. These
kids enlisted, but these are people who's kids aren't quite so gung ho and ready to serve their country (which in this case is sadly questionable). When it's their time to go, it's going to hit them where they live. Because we all know that Iraq is not the end of the game. We are now, if the neo-cons get their way, in a state of permanent war.

For some racist reason, the fact that Iraqis are dying just doesn't mean a damn thing to these people. Somehow, someway, these damn idiots have convinced themselves that these people deserve it and are expendable. They're too damn lazy to educate themselves about Al Quaeda, the flights out of the country by the Saudi royal family and the bin Ladens right after 9/11, jeb's little trip to D.C. with the flight school records on 9/12, Iraq having nothing to do with the WTC attacks. They just too frigging dumb and lazy to think. They have a deep dark black hole where their humanity should be, not to mention their heads firmly planted up their asses.

19. Not racist

For some racist reason, the fact that Iraqis are dying just doesn't mean a damn thing to these people.

I would venture a guess this is more nationalistic than racist. We killed a whole lot of Germans during World Wars I and II. I don't recall hearing of Americans crying over that very much either.

10. Sad to say, the media has no spine.
Not only do they not report 11 dead, all the media seems to be downgrading the total of soldiers killed. Notice they don't say "750+ have been killed since we invaded Iraq". They say "500+ have been killed since Bush declared the end of major operations in Iraq" or "100+ have been killed since April 1". Thank God for Ted Koppel reading off the names of the dead on his show on Friday night. Though I'm getting afraid that he might have to do another show listing those killed since has last show.

15. Their top story is the worker that got away.
Which is very good news for him and his family. But they don't say nothing about the 11 killed.

22. I've noticed that most deaths
are reported in the middle of the night (at least US time, I guess it's the middle of the day in Iraq). It's certainly convienent though. They report the casualties after newspapers have gone to print for the night.

25. It's above the fold on front page on the Washington Post for Monday
As a matter of fact the "hostage escapes" story is barley glanced over at all. It's given a paragraph or two in the story about the combat deaths but that's it.
