John Kerry, this election is unique in our 228 year history, because...
Edited on Mon May-03-04 12:19 AM by TruthIsAll
This is the FIRST election, the absolute FIRST, in which the Democratic base and others expect the incumbent to pull out all stops and attempt to STEAL the election. Just like we all now know he did in 2000.

The only difference between now and then is that it was never contemplated by us that he would try to steal the election until it was too late. We were all in shock on Dec. 12, 2000 - the Dems and Gore and you, John Kerry, as well as the 51 million who voted for Al.

Now we are ready. Or are we? We know what to expect. We are forewarned, but are we forearmed? John Kerry, are you ready to deal with this? Just what are you going to do to prevent this travesty from happening again? How about shining light on the subject? Others have already. Like Kucinich. And Dean. And Bev Harris.

Don't confuse Bev with Katherine. Please.

Well, first thing would be to talk about it. Make it an issue. It's a no-brainer. How could anybody be against a paper trail? You would be surprised.

Time is running out, John. You will win. Bush can't beat you in a fair election. Only BBV can.

As Joe Stalin once said: It's not who votes. It's who counts them. Bush knows this to be true. Do you?

6. It is still too early
For juicy really ripe scandals like that. Bush still has time to offset it with one of his "We'll have a full investigation"

Besides the fat lady has not sung on the 911 Commission, The Plame outing, or the situation in Iraq. The message Dems have for Bush is like sending a dead fish to the White House from Mexico by snail mail. When it finally gets there it will stink so bad it will clear the whole house out.

As far as BBV is concerned I only hope the ground swell is so unanimous it is in front of the Supreme court before they know what hit them. I want to see the whole thing tossed out before the elections. Already several states are doing just that. A few more and the scales will be tipped

9. Now that the dangers
of electronic "voting" is out in the open it definitely has to be made a big issue by Kerry. The smoking gun to me is the control of these companies by EXTREME rightwinger and "christian" reconstructionists, such an infestation of these types all in one place ought to be more than a red flag. Why is that angle never discusses?

16. And lots of Jews in Florida didn't mean to vote for Pat Buchanan.

But somehow, they did. Whoops!

My mother lived in one of the disputed counties. Some of her black friends told her they were turned away from the voting places, given false information on where to vote, and some were told they couldn't vote because they were on record as being convicted felons. (They weren't.)

Read Greg Palast's book before shooting your keyboard off.

13. excellent observation
Until 2000, Americans may have expected dirty tricks to sway an election, but not that the election itself would be stolen.

What worries me now is how the Republican intention to steal the election is out there in the popular consciousness, but almost only as a standing joke. This suggests Americans know what the Bush team is capable of doing to keep power, yet feel impotent to do anything about it.

The Democratic leadership ought to step up and call out the Republicans, put them on notice, and be vocal about ensuring that every vote be counted. Unfortunately, however, I don't see it happening.

18. Spot on, TIA....
Kerry's now the "official" HEAD of the Democratic party, and as such, it's his job to LEAD -- STARTING NOW!!

Any true leadership is going to be characterized, IMHO, as taking the part of the PEOPLE that their votes should be counted, and anyone interferring in such process should be held criminally liable for tampering with elections.

John Kerry could take the air out of bush's balloon REAL QUICKLY by addressing this issue outright.

Watch chimpy's posture once he knows every vote will count. He will show himself to be a defeated man. Why? Because he KNOWS that he wouldn't stand a chance in a fair election in this country. Only if he can steal votes would he stand a chance.

The problem is, the DLCers in the Democratic party have so TOTALLY sold their souls to the propaganda of the devils, that they don't know we (Dems) HAVEN'T been losing elections!! They've been systematically and systemically gerrymandered.

I KNEW Erskin Bowles didn't lose to Elizabeth Dole in the NC Senate race in 2002. I KNEW IT! But the voting machines said she won. It has taken until NOW for the truth to start coming out.

As the new LEADER of the Dem party, Kerry can take this ball and run with it all the way to the White House -- and REALLY defend our freedom, like the hero he is!! Bring back our votes, and watch this country get whiplash from such a quick turn-around in the composition of Dems in elected office.
