Sex in theatre : How many Amer-Iraqis have been concieved?
This will surely be dismissed as one of the "costs of war" by Rummy but...

Any news about babies being born to Iraqi women who were fooling around with GI Joe?

We've been there long enough...

There must be some...maybe alot!

Anyone hear anything like this...first hand reports?

1. I think it will be woefully underreported
Primarily due to the culture of Iraq. It will be hidden by the women and the families of the women.

2. To spin it a little differently, how many US Servicewomen
are carrying Iraqi babies? Maybe this kind of inter-mingling is what can bring about peace? Just a thought.

5. If history is to be believed, it won't bring peace
Rather, it will result in a large number of unwanted children who will be tainted with the stigma of having the enemy's blood, just like in Vietnam...

4. I think it is actually quite low.. Islamic women are very tightly
controlled. They have been raised their whole lives in a strict patriarchal fundamentalist society.. Look at the street scenes...Not many women even visible.

In the "house raids", there may have been rapes, but I seriously doubt that there are many oppportunities for "dating"..

In the Viet Nam war, the women were avaliable to our servicemen, and they actually wanted a relationship with them. Same as in WWII..

The Iraqi women and girls are very unlikely to be open to any relationship , since stoning or public execution are very likely outcomes of such a tryst.

6. But Saddam's Iraq was a relatively westernized nation...
...were not talking about the Taliban here...

7. But Iraq is still a predominantly Muslim country...
... with all of the trappings and traditions that go along with it.

The religious officials in Iraq are certainly NOT the Taliban. But it still cannot be denied that there is a great deal of Muslim culture within Iraq, regardless of the secularism promoted under Saddam.

I still think the instance is low. With all the men that are out of work now, that means they are probably at home watching their women..

Even though Iraq was a secular country, I think there was a fundamentalism that while forbidden, was bubbling just under the surface..
