Dear Friends,

Welcome to Media Matters for America, a new Web-based, not-for-profit progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media. 7. Great!
Did you guys know that there's a "media watchdog" group called "Oh, THAT Liberal Media!" dedicated to gathering any and all supposed pieces of "liberal" slant they find in the media in order to build a database to refute Eric Alterman's book, "What Liberal Media?" Seriously, these assholes really think that's a good way to spend their time. As if Fox and David Horowitz aren't already doing their job for them, and as if they'll ever find fault with the media's over-fucking-WHELMING conservative bias. I guess some people in the dungeon simply don't want ANY shafts of light peeking through.

I'm glad David Brock is using his extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the conservative mindset to help progressive causes and not just sit on the sidelines and say, "I told you so!"

8. After his epiphany, I was wondering if he would chime in
on the 2004 race.

I read his book (Blinded . . .). Very enlightening. Especially when you consider his knee-jerk reaction to one "liberal" event that turned him more "conservative" than his father ever was.

This is akin to a Goebbels aide leaving Germany in 1942 and going to Britain to broadcast against Hitler. They cannot just write him off as "just some liberal writer" when he wrote some of the most vicious stuff against the Dems for the Repuke attack dogs.

9. No kidding
Some of the stuff in that book ought to be requried reading for the morans. Including one moral majority type columnist (male) trying to seduce Brock rather forcefully at a party at Brock's house. Brock didn't identify the guy, but I keep picturing Novakula.

As far as I know, none of them have refuted anything he says in that book. Including getting royally stoned on illegal drugs with Laura Ingram or the fact that Ann Coulter "lives on chardonnay and cigarettes." Or one of Clarence Thomas' staunchest supporters calling up Brock and yelling, "My God! He did it, didn't he?"

11. This site is infuriating!
This is not a criticism, the info Brock supplies is excellent. It's just that reading all these example of right-wing lies, over and over and over again, just makes me want to punch a whole in the wall!!! It's bad enough that these people are shameless liars, but then they want to act all righteous at the same time. Goddamn hypocrites!

12. This website is absolutely f'in fantastic!!!
It fills the void left when The Horse went out to permanent pasture. We need David Brock's voice right now, and he's certainly one of the most competent, credible right-wing media watchdogs on the planet.

Hooray!!! I just spent, like, two hours reading every last word on that website. :D :D :D

14. here's a choice sample...
WorldNetDaily's Kohn: "evidence" suggests Kerry having an affair with New York Times reporter

Without citing any sources, in a May 1 WorldNetDaily "Exclusive Commentary," author Bob Kohn claimed that "evidence suggests" Senator John Kerry is having an affair with a New York Times reporter. Under the headline "Gray Lady goes to bed with Kerry," Kohn wrote, "Evidence suggests that a New York Times reporter covering the Kerry campaign may be sleeping with the presumptive nominee of the Democrat Party." The "evidence" that Kohn presented is a laundry list of instances he insisted demonstrate bias on the part of The New York Times or instances from which he inferred that the reporter had special access to Senator Kerry. He all but named the reporter by citing specific passages from articles with her byline; then he cited serial fabricator Jayson Blair as a source for his charge that New York Times reporters trade "favorable" stories for sex. For example, Kohn wrote:
Leaving aside the interesting question of how this female Times reporter learned that Kerry "rarely finishes" watching the movies he started, you just have to wonder what is going on here...

In his book "Burning Down My Masters' House," Jayson Blair described how Times reporters, both male and female, are commonly offered theater tickets, free meals, drinks and sometimes even sex in exchange for favorable mentions in their stories. A large number of journalists at the Times, he says, "have a weak spot for sex."

Do the Democrats have another Bill Clinton running for president?
Bob Kohn is the author of Journalistic Fraud: How The New York Times Distorts the News and Why It Can No Longer Be Trusted, which is published by the conservative WorldNetDaily press WND Books.

(so, he relies on a discredited source from a paper that he says can't be trusted???)
