If you're in a swing state, please share your observations on both campaigns. Are Bush's ads effective? Are Kerry's? Does one seem to have more grassroots support than the others? Whose bumperstickers are more popular? Do you sense any sort of movement? Does one side appear to be on the defensive?
I'm in Massachusets, so I'm missing out on the campaigns.
Tennessee is up for grabs and I don't hear anything good about Bush here. Unless Kerry completely ignores TN and doesn't campaign here at all, I think TN will go with Kerry.
and I don't see much activity one way or the other. Not many signs or bumper stickers yet for either Kerry or Bush. I get my information from e-mails from the Kerry campaign...I've volunteered but no one has called me...I've maxed out my contributions and everyone has thanked me...but not really alot of activity yet as far as I can see.
In personal conversations with friends who live here, I've detected a subtle change in attitude... many people up here have kids or know kids in the Guard or Reserve...they are becomming disheartened...beginning to question the Idiot in the WH...I can tell that they hate doing this, but they are.
8. I don't think too many folks in WV are paying attention.
The squabble over the primary election for the gubernatorial candidate is sucking up most of the oxygen. The attack ads two of the candidates for governor are running seem to be drowning out anything Bush or Kerry has out there. Folks are already tired of the ads.
At this point the polls are indicating the one gubernatorial candidate with the most name recognition has a big lead. That may point to a problem for Kerry if he's not better known in WV before November.
There was a newspaper ad kicking Kerry for his gun control votes. It wasn't a big ad and it didn't seem to be an official Republican ad. A lot of folks are steadfast behind the military and seem to be leaning to backing Bush. One elderly lady, 72, died last week. I know Bush lost a vote when she passed away.
I have seen Bush and Kerry ads duking it out here for the past month. The Bush ads - based on anecdotal evidence - seem to have fallen by the wayside. A lot of them run during 5 pm- 8pm.
The "Commitment" ad by Kerry ran last night during 60 Minutes. Nicely done.
