Amazing. Time Magazine covers the torture scandal with a half-page.
Edited on Tue May-04-04 04:45 PM by JohnLocke
This a "stop the presses story," and Time magazine gives it half of page 20, in the "notebook" department. Where are the priorities of journalists the days? Is this deliberate pro-Bush bias, or just journalistic laziness?

By the way, here's the kicker: they didn't even bother to mention the torture on the cover, and the lead story is a feature on "the Secrets of the Teen Brain." The other story that had cover billing is "Troy: Making of an Epic."

Unbelievable.

By the way, you can find more Time idiocy http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=1093358&mesg_id=1093358">here.

4. I believe that there was not time to do a full story
I would not be surprised to see this as a lead in a couple of weeks.

5. Very believable, for a Totalitarian Nation
Get used to it, you've been living in one for 3+ years.

This is absolutely unsurprising for a Slaveish Nation such as Imperial Amerika.

You are only surprised because you are used to the Freedom which we lived with for most of our lives. Well, that is gone now, replaced by a Tranisitional Phase remarkable only to the degree in which the Busheviks (like the Caesers before them) are plying the Imperial Subjects with Bread, Circuses, Lies, and Illusion, in order to make us think we're still free.

And in fact, at our level, we are still pretty much untouched by Tyranny in our daily lives. We are 98% free, as it were, until the Busheviks are finished consolidating their Unchallengable, Unchecked Power. As it always is in the History of Totalitarian Empires, we will feel the pain only after there is no possible way for us to be heard, and no remaining legal mechanism to stop the Monstrous Busheviks.

THEN the Imperial Subjects of Amerika will FINALLY UNDERSTAND what cancer they have allowed to metastasize in our midst.

My point is: If you assume a Free Old American Republic, you will be constantly stunned. If you assume Totalitarian, Orwellian Empire, suddenly you will be predicting at a better rate than Jimmy the Greek.

This is No coincidence.
