Say what you like about a toon or two of his, he's at least gone to the middle-East and seen what things are like on the ground, outside of the embedded situation.

That book blew me away...

But overall his work is good. Everyone has a bad day.

He gave an opinion, no matter how tasteless it might have been.

and who is dead now, to boot.

Pat Tillman chose to serve his country and lost his life doing so. The politicians may have misused those who made that commitment, but the soldier still made the sacrifice for his country.

I think the war in Iraq is wrong-we should never have gone there, but now we're stuck for the time being. The war in Afganistan is a whole different matter, I don't care what Ted Rall says. I didn't like the cluster bombing of Kabul or the food drop containers that were similar in shape and color to the bombs, but I do think that there was a humanitarian aspect to this intervention that wasn't there in the Iraq invasion. This is where the terrorists were holed up-there may have been places in Pakistan, too, but the Taliban gave OBL refuge and the Taliban were scumbags that had to go. I wish the UN had intervened in that country a long time before 9-11.

...ruin that IMO. The bulk of his work is both entertaining and accurate.

He does occasionally offend the easily offended, perhaps even the not so easily offended too, but I like the guy.

It is the unfortunate, unvarnished truth about war fever.

I really don't think I've ever seen anything but Rall that couldn't be produced by a well-read ninth-grader with an "Anarchy" sympol scratched into his locker.
