Why does Kerry not uses *s verbal screw ups against him?
Edited on Wed May-05-04 02:15 PM by leftistagitator
The minute * started airing those "I voted for the bill before I voted against it" ads, Kerry's team should have started making their own ads highlighting *s sage advice. I can just see it now, start off with a list of *s 2000 campaign promises followed by the truth, followed by "Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me again not gonna get fooled again".

There is some solid gold for political attacks here

Surely we can find audio recordings of some of his better fuckups, like this classic "We want results in every single classroom so that one single child is left behind."

on edit after reading some of the other posts
Damn it all, get out of my head sidwill. That is just freaky.

6. I'm With Kerry
I don't think the verbal gaffes belong in the campaign. It smacks of nit-picking. However, I do get the sense that one reason the media goes easy on Bush is because it's easy to get the sense, when blasting Bush, that you are picking on the retarded.

Speaking of which, what ever happened to the mustard gas on the turkey farm? See....bringing this up makes me feel like a bully harrassing the mentally incompetent. Not that I don't think this is fair game in the election, but I don't think it's Kerry's job.

3. It would seem sophomoric
let Bush's ads be sophomoric (and believe me, being in FL, I see plenty of them, and they are)... I wouldn't want Kerry to stoop to that.

5. Might backfire -for the yahoos who identify with * as a *common man*
getting slammed by a clearly more intelligent and literate gentleman might make them dig in their heels even more to bond with *

7. Picking on the mentally retarded is a tricky affair
People like Bush in part because he is a common and is not too smart. Picking on Bush for being Bush is not going to change any votes.

8. I think Kerry should hit Chimpy on EVERYTHING.
Have you seen the way Chimpy RIDICULES Kerry on the stump. Heck, Kerry needs to come back at him. Hit EVERY weakness - and there are plenty.

Do it with humor. But do it.

10. Exactly
It is petty and sophomoric, but effective if done with the right level of humor. It's about image management, all we have to do is link * to incompetence in the same way he's trying to link Kerry to flip-flopping. Luckily, * is doing most of the hard work for us. It's one thing to be a common man, it's another thing to be such a bumbler that you wildly mess up anything you try to say.
