2. C'mon now. If California can do it, the nation can do it.

And California's doin' it. So let's make this happen, folks. Flog that congressman of yours some more. If he hasn't voted for the bill yet, he must like being flogged, so lay it on. Either he votes for the bill or he'll have to face humiliation, because we're right.

4. HR 2239 and ONLY S 1980
The other senate bill has a loophole a mile wide.

HR 2239 in the House

S 1980 in the Senate (Graham's bill)

The bill backed by Clinton is trouble!

7. Not "in trouble." It "is trouble"
contains weasel words and lends itself to failure to get what we need, while offering a warm fuzzy that makes people think they got what we need.

8. Hillary Clinton and verified voting
Edited on Thu May-06-04 11:20 AM by Eric J in MN
Hillary Clinton introduced her own bill a few months ago which doesn't reqire verifiable paper ballots, just "the most accurate technology." Every company would say it uses the most accurate technology.

More recently, she cosponsored "The RECORD Act," which has a giant loophole, that states can send in a report saying it's "impossible" for them to provide paper ballots instead of requring them to do so.

For more on why to support "The Voter Confidence Act" and not "The RECORD Act," go to:
