We should ALL apologize for the torture, not just Bush
Its not enough to sit here and say "I told ya' so," or point fingers, 'cuz if I knew all along it was the wrong thing to do,this war, and I didn't do enough to stop it, then I am just as guilty as those troopers in the prison, and our crap president in the white house.

I would like to take this chance to say to the global community and the people of Iraq that I, as a citizen of the United States, have failed you. I am sorry for what I've done.

I am ashamed I sat by and did nothing to stop this.

1. I feel your pain and shame.
We will have to fight for this country, literally, to return it to The People.

2. I am angry
but I am sure many of us will tell you, we have sent emails, we have screamed at staffers on phones, we have repeteadly told them...

Yes we are ashamed, but many of us have been standing up to them for over a year now.

Hell you know what it is to SEND letters to Congress or post on a freeper site when YOUR HUSBAND is deployed?

Now I ask you to not only say you are sorry.

RIGHT NOW WRITE letters to the paper

WRITE NOW, write letters to Congress

Hell confront a freeper TODAY

3. Don't feel guilty....
I'm not American and I can't know how you feel...but I think you are blaming yourself for something that is not your fault....From the day the election was given to Bush by your Supreme Court, it has been out of your hands....My heart goes out to you, but just hang in there...I feel the Bush government is almost at the end of their line....:loveya:...from a Canadian friend....

6. Your absolutely right, we should apologise
and we can do it. I don't have the skills, but there is a member here by the name of SYMBOLMAN. I've read a lot of his posts and from them I gather that he has a website and he makes flash movies. I was thinking if someone could contact him, maybe we can gather our digital cameras, record our apologies and send them to him, if he is willing to put it together and produce a flash we could to send to middle eastern news stations. We could ask him, the worse he could say is no.

13. We also send money to the Palestinians
And some of them blow up innocent kids on purpose. Should we apologize to the survivors of the hamas and PA bombings?

9. apologize for what?
I didn't do it. And I have no sway over those who did it. I can't assume the burden of all that extra "guilt" right now. Too much already on my plate.

14. Screw that- I'm not apologizing. I voted for Gore in 2000.
Edited on Thu May-06-04 10:15 PM by Redleg
I didn't support the war. There was no way any of us or all of us together could stop Bush from invading Iraq. I won't apologize or share any part of "collective guilt."

15. Speak for yourself. I am NOT responsible for this travesty.
Let the criminals apologize for it - and really mean it.

I, and most others on this board, have NOTHING to apologize for.
