Red Cross reported "serious violations" in Iraq-WSJ

<snip>The 24-page document, which was obtained by the Wall Street Journal, said the abuse of prisoners in Iraq was widespread and in some cases "tantamount to torture", the newspaper said in a report on its online service on Friday.

Sources at the Geneva-based ICRC said the document, covering the period March-November 2003, was genuine. Because of the leak, the humanitarian organisation, which almost never goes public with its findings, has called a news conference for 1400 GMT when the full text will be issued.

1. It is too bad we have been reduced to waiting for leaks to know part
of the truth.

5. The DEMOCRATS were pissed off
Every Republican that I saw on CSPAN was repeating the same line of talking points. The Republican leadr kept waving that little one line report and finally got his message mixed up. Where he was originally waving it as "proof" that Kimmel (Kimmet?) had sent to report to 20M americans (through Faux news and CNN, I might add) within THREE days, after Nancy Pelosi spoke (and a rather stirring speech, telling him to PLEASE NOT REFER TO HIS LITTLE PICES OF PAPER AGAIN) he started sputtering and then the number of the days changed, then he back-pedaled, and changed the number of days again.

The DEMOCRATS in the House were totally trying to get ALL persons included in the investigation, not just the 6 or 7 people the military had started an investigation on... contractors, cilvilians etc.

Thank God for CSPAN!!!
Without it we'd be left with precious little truth out there.

I've always wondered how the Republicans can set up a Democratic society....
