What a batch of bullshit. Rumsfeld should be in the Hague along side bush*, cheney, ashcroft, wolfowitz and a dozen others that should be being tried for war crimes in the Hague instead of this public relation debacle. These hearings have only served to ratchet up their PNAC agenda and "road map to oil" with a few mea culpas and alot of apologist remarks tempered by the word "BUT" atleast we freed the Iraqi people from the tyranny of Saddam Hussein and the tired old rhetoric of 99.99% of our fine fighting men are model soldiers and citizens. In other words, it's support the troops, buy the bullshit or you will be branded anti-american.

Will the irony be lost on the American public when this war criminal who still stands defiant and arrogant over the torture and death of hundreds of Iraqi and Afghanistan citizens over the past year, not just a in the last three months of 2003, but the entire time of the occupation, be lost on the American viewing public, and how will it go over when he is left in his position of power by this administration from hell.

I am depending on the Arab world and our European neighbors to raise hell, but any dissent here will fall on the deaf ears and be stifled and ridiculed by this corrupt administration we are forced to be ruled under.

I have never been so ashamed to be an american in my life. We are in serious trouble here people.

I have always considered myself to have a raucous, keen, good sense of humor, but the news out of Iraq in the last year gives me absolutely nothing to even try to find the humor in.

edited to add: I just can't get my jollys off viewing photos of Iraqi detainees being made to perform sex acts on each other, strung up to electrical wires or being led around by a leash by a hillbilly slutbag getting her rocks off in between screwing the future father of her poor innocent child fathered by a guy that was arrested and has a restraining order on him for beating the shit out of his ex-wife and threatening to kill her and their children. Gee, guess my sense of humor is running pretty low at this point...

lacking a sense of humor over the current events and the torture of countless innocent Iraqi civilian detainess. We may be next... how much comic relief will we need to get thru that.....it's coming and don't doubt it for a minute.

I just refuse to believe that all Dean, Kucinich, Braun and Graham supporters that used to hang out here are gone, even the Clarkies that in the beginning believed that this war was bullshit before they jumped on the Kerry bandwagon. I know your out there. Please rise up again and contribute your particular brand of good sense and compassion, it is much needed here..

I am in Hawaii, so 6 hrs behind; did not get to see much of the hearings...I will watch the reruns tonight.

This entire war was a crime, from beginning to end. So it was bound to go bad, & have terrible consequences. My fear is that people will say, OK, there is an investigation, & go back to their own little worlds.

I grew up during Vietnam, & the difference in public awareness, civic responsibility, between then & now is mind-boggling.

When you go to war, based on a lie, what can you expect? The lies grow lies, & pretty soon, the web of deception is overwhelming.

Now we just have a commercial propaganda machine for the neo-cons. But even they couldn't cover this up and make it go away.
