Finding ways to get more Open Minds here to DU
The Open Mind is way better than the Closed Mind. Before making decisions, the Open Mind runs all known options thru a filter. The Closed Mind doesn'r... very Subjective, not Objective.

The Open Mind embraces Vision, Truth, Common Sense/Fairness.

The Closed Mind is Selfish, greedy, self centered, and often delusional.

Come, we go look for the Open Mind.... quite Rare these days.

1. Indeed, as former VP Dan Quayle was heard to utter....
"...the mind is a terrible thing!"

3. ..."The Mind is a terrible thing to lose"......
The Pubs are trying to "steal" minds all the time. Guess what, quite successful.

12. George W. Bush: The President Quayle We Never Had.
One of my favorite bumperstickers! :-)

Anyhow, here's Quayle's actual quote on the "mind" subject:

"What a waste it is to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is."

Other great quotes from the mind of Dan Quayle:

"The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century."

"We don't want to go back to tomorrow, we want to go forward."

"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the
polls."

"Murphy Brown is doing better than I am. At least she knows she still
has a job next year."
(Quite true, Danny Boy. Quite true.)

Does Quayle remind anyone of... ummm... anyone...? Must be a Bush family thing. If you're not stupid enough on your own, just find yourself a stupid sidekick!

2. It's hard to keep
an open mind when Bush and co. are breaking international laws and we know it.
It's hard to keep an open mind when Rummy states he didn't know and we know he did.
It's hard to keep an open mind when Bush lied about the reason for war with Iraq and we know he did.
It's hard to keep an open mind when our countrymen and women are dying because Bush lied and we know it.
It's hard to keep an open mind when people are being tortured in "our" prisons and we know it.
I'm sure there are more and I know it.

5. Yes, its hard to keep an Open Mind but we have no choice
The other option is a Closed Mind, or, perhaps, the Clogged Mind.

If more Americans keep an open mind, we would have less Brain washing going on.... which is detrimental to our Society. Alas, too many Minds have been stolen and put Bush into Office. He is clearly inept for the job, his mind stolen years ago.

9. Just had my brain washed, and can't do a thing with it. ^_^
So, need some low cholesterol brain food, eh?

Anything special you have in mind, opi? (lousy pun intended)

Although..... some minds require a blast of dynamite, I fear.

8. Too many Stolen Minds out there, all Brain Washed and hung out
to dry.

Stepford Citizens prowl the Malls and delude themselves with distractions. They even vote when told to and for whom.
