Anyone have today's new Zogby poll
I hear it's good for Kerry, but the Zogby site is down.

1. I guess nobody does, I keep clicking on this thread in hopes of seeing it
myself. I have a good feeling though, I think that Bushco is about to take a big hit.

Edited on Sun May-09-04 10:06 PM by cooper82
Which I guess means Kerry is leading. The site may be down because of the Drudge line- the freepers are probably going crazy trying to see the results- but the don't do polls, hunh?

4. I won't say where I got this:
Released: May 09, 2004
The Election Is Kerry’s To Lose
By John Zogby

I have made a career of taking bungee jumps in my election calls. Sometimes I haven’t had a helmet and I have gotten a little scratched. But here is my jump for 2004: John Kerry will win the election.

Have you recovered from the shock? Is this guy nuts? Kerry’s performance of late has hardly been inspiring and polls show that most Americans have no sense of where he really stands on the key issues that matter most to them. Regardless, I still think that he will win. And if he doesn’t, it will be because he blew it. There are four major reasons for my assertion:

First, my most recent poll (April 12-15) shows bad re-election numbers for an incumbent President. Senator Kerry is leading 47% to 44% in a two-way race, and the candidates are tied at 45% in the three-way race with Ralph Nader. Significantly, only 44% feel that the country is headed in the right direction and only 43% believe that President Bush deserves to be re-elected – compared with 51% who say it is time for someone new.

In that same poll, Kerry leads by 17 points in the Blue States that voted for Al Gore in 2000, while Bush leads by only 10 points in the Red States that he won four years ago.

(snip)

6. ZOGBY IS THE ONLY POLL I TRUST
He has opinions but bases them in a lot of facts, i read his article and i believe the same thing he does, that trends are just not going the presidents way. Kerry is drab, thats for sure, but a good VP out on the stump and other DEMS, can really help him. I think the other side is lost in its own hubris. The conservatives like to say that we hate BUSH SOOOOO MUCH, as if the clinton hating is a distant memory. The truth is if thats all they have then they dont have much. The president has run his presidency for the elector win, not a majority plus 1 or even a plurality of votes cast, simply to win the states he did last time. Nothing has changed since he was at his POLL heighth at which time i said at work that he wouldnt win a single state that GORE won in 2000. which means bush has to defend all the close states. which means small states like WV, NH, and NV could go for kerry and he is gone. If a state like OH goes, its all over for sure. Ive never liked his wedge campaign strategy, its week and negative. I think the Kerry is smart by not spending money and watching Bush and all those asswipes *can i say that?, spin out of control.
