Let's Be Honest With Ourselves As Liberals/Leftists

Why do we get savaged and burned by the pukes? Because we see ourselves as morally superior to them. We assume that if we take the moral high-ground that somehow we'll win and even if we do lose. "We were true to ourselves." This is the kind of crap that got us killed in the '80, '84 '88 and 2000 presidential elections. When Democrats lay out a smart well organized vision combined with a "We aren't taking any sh*t from the pukes" attitude, we win. We don't have to lie, like they do. We don't have to savage their families like they do. But when they do something reprehensible, or they lie it is up to John Kerry and the rest of the Democratic leadership to call them on it. Cranston did that in his re-election run in '86, Clinton did it in '92 to papa bush.
We have got to drop the nose-in-the-air, limosine-liberal persona and adopt a we can and WILL get as dirty as you do attitude. Don't apologise for telling the truth. Don't feel guilty about telling the truth. Tell Racicot to go F**K himself.
Let the pukes know...we'll be as civil as they are. They wanna play nice, we'll play nice. They wanna get down and dirty...so will we. And this has got to come from Kerry and the rest of the Democratic establishment.

And you are right that we don't have to lie like they do. The facts are on our side and we have to come out swinging. It's more than just putting up a fight it would show that we have conviction.

however, I don't think that playing at their level of character assassination with faux information and lies is really the solution.

Part of the problem, of course, is that the media allows the pukes to frame the debate, which makes our job twice as difficult. I personally believe that the media is what we need to change, to try and force it to be accountable, and not lie right along with the repugs.
