Time to lay off Rumsfeld
The current RW spin is that the call for Rumsfeld to resign is just Democrats playing politics and the lowest of the low. I suggest that the response should be "If he had honor he would resign, but that's up to him." If he goes, he takes f*head's responsibility with him. Rumsfeld will be gone soon enough.

What's needed is a new strategy and a new administration. The only way to get rid of Rumsfeld is to get rid of the administration.

1. Wait until the Arab world starts protesting. I think this Rumsfeld problem
is going to land into somebody else's hands.

2. Of course it's politics
Everything in this administration is politics. The war in Iraq is political.

If bush wants to hang on to Rummy, then let Rummy drag him down like an anchor. I thought that bush would get Rumsfeld to resign over the torture so that he could divorce himself from the scandal.

3. The only thing more wrongheaded would be to praise him now.
The men under his command are torturing & raping in our name.

Lay off?

The hell I will.

4. No praise from me, but I do think Rumsfield is a political liability
for Bush by staying in the administration. This is the "no accountability" pResidency, after-all.

5. more of a liability to have him shamed, humiliated, and out of here
During an election year, no less. It would taint Bush, and perhaps neutralize Rummy's replacement for a bit.

7. If he leaves, it helps Bush
If he stays, it hurts Bush.

Keep him as a reminder!

8. Rumsfeld should be fired for not planning for Iraq.
If they insist on being imperialists, they could at least execute their policy correctly.

9. I will NOT lay off the atrocities in Iraq.
I know that a lot of Republicans would just love to sweep this whole "unfortunate incident" under the rug.

Sorry, no sale.

My taxes are going to support this shit and I have a moral obligation to speak out about it. That means speaking out about Rumsfeld and everyone else in charge of our military.

At one time the Republicans claimed to the party that supported personal accountability.

10. Rumsfeld should be held accountable ...
Edited on Mon May-10-04 05:45 PM by Trajan
We have wanted to remove Rumsfeld since the 'war' started ....

Hell: We have ALWAYS thought Rumsfeld was a fucking nut .... He should have NEVER been installed in the first place ....

This is all about the the PNAC bunch doing extreme damage control .... Hence the ridiculously self-serving comments by Cheney yesterday: he thinks Rumsfeld is the 'best ever' ... WTF is he thinking ? ....

Rumsfeld, like the administration he belongs to, is among the WORST we have EVER SEEN ....

Now: Bush comes in, practically laying Laurel Wreaths on Rumsfeld's haughty brow, singing the psalms of "Rumsfeld The Grand" as the Grand Dragon Cheney himself stands by in the backround, nodding at every accolade ....

ARE THESE PEOPLE NUTS ??? ...

GEEEEZ ! ....

The BEST way to get rid of Rumsfeld, is to get rid of the dangerous party who hired him in the first place ....

The same party that designed the policies which promoted Abu Gharaib ...

The same party that LIED its way to war for the benefit of personal profits ...

Rumsfeld must go, and so should Bush and the GOP congress ....

THEY are the problem ....
