Is our 'Interrogation' policy based on the Israeli model? read here
from HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH

http://www.hrw.org/reports/1992/israel/

www.redefeatbush.com

sorry to bring it up, but i've read repeatedly over the last few months about the Israeli methods of interrogation, and how they are being studied and copied because of their great effectiveness.

strange world we live in where jews could learn the methods of their former nazi oppressors, and employ them on the palestinians, or we americans, who defeated the nazis, following suit. are we suffering from abused child syndrome? many sexually abused children grow up to be abusers themselves. stockholm syndrome or something like it.

the arabs already know that we are practically in bed with sharon, and they know how he interrogates those he sees as 'combatants'.
as the army processed the mostly innocent prisoners in iraq, they'd be tortured, and released, to tell all the others about how the americans treated them as bad as saddam did. and we wonder why 'insurgents' shoot our g.i.'s?

christians and jews torturing and killing arabs by the thousands.
how the ghosts of the nazis must laugh at them from their eternal damnation.

1. Highly probable
Israel essentially views anyone who is not them as inferior.

13. Huh?
Don't just throw out unsubstantiated blanket statements like that. If you have a point to make, justify your vilification of an entire nation.

Obviously Israel is currently in a state of disfavour among many DU-types because of the close connections between the bushlers & sharon, but statements like yours aren either helpful nor insightful. Many here, like myself, support Israel though we dislike sharon (as do a majority of Israelis).

2. Palestinians have said that similar torture techniques were used on them

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/C182D988-28E3-4D48-ADFC-F15D6509B0EC.htm The torturing of Iraqi prisoners at the Abu Ghuraib prison by US occupying forces has shocked the world - but for most Palestinians they come as no surprise.

In fact, tens of thousands of Palestinians who have served time in Israeli prisons and detention centres see striking similarities between Israeli treatment of Palestinian prisoners and American treatment of Iraqi detainees.

In some cases, the torture technique or form of mistreatment is almost identical, some former Palestinian prisoners told Aljazeera.net.

Hisham Abd al-Razzaq is a Palestinian Authority minister in charge of overseeing and catering for more than 7000 Palestinian prisoners in Israel, many of them interned without charge or trial.

14. "tens of thousands of Palestinians"
All still alive? After decades of murder? They go into Israeli jails and come out alive?

Wow. Not a bit like the Sudan, is it?

.. to resemble the Israeli model (at least when it comes to Arabs) - there's no big surprise here.

10. Really? In what way, please.
Can you be specific?

Do we merely bulldoze homes after our families have been blown to tiny pieces?

In what way do our policies correspond? Since our personal experience isn't related at all.

I'm sure there are lots of nasty examples out there. I could even give you a few but you ought to do your own homework.

Slander without specifics is just specious. Make a good faith effort to back it up.

5. Let's not exaggerate
Whatever you think you know about Israel's methods, don't compare them to the Nazis. That's a totally different order of magnitude of evil. For starters, why don't you do a Google on, say, "Joseph Mengele".

Also, do you have any links to articles you've "read repeatedly" about Israel's methods?

You're much more likely to get your point across by documenting controversial statements, and refraining from hyperbole.

16. I did read the article you linked to
While its contents are very troubling, note that it is from 1992. To be fair, one should check out whether reforms have been made over the course of 12 years.

The exaggeration accusation was due to your comparison with the Nazis, which the article, of course, does not undertake.

6. Well, thank you, Mopaul.
One tiny bit of difference. We invaded a country which did not attack us.

The Israelis finally went with the Likud because NOTHING ELSE WAS WORKING. Because the frustration of being murdered while going about your daily business just gets wearing after the first couple of decades.

There's a reason the Israelis have gone nuts. We don't have their excuse.

And it really pisses me off to see this kind of equivalence being made, which whitewashes the white Christians in charge of this country. See, they're merely pawns in the hands of the evil Jews. For shame, Mopaul. For shame.

NOT TO MENTION, our School of the Americas has proudly been teaching torture and murder for years without any bloody help from anyone.

19. The Israeli Torture Template
Edited on Tue May-11-04 11:45 AM by seemslikeadream
sorry if this has already been posted

The Israeli Torture Template
Rape, Feces and Urine-Dipped Cloth Sacks
By WAYNE MADSEN

With mounting evidence that a shadowy group of former Israeli Defense Force and General Security Service (Shin Bet) Arabic-speaking interrogators were hired by the Pentagon under a classified "carve out" sub-contract to brutally interrogate Iraqi prisoners at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib prison, one only needs to examine the record of abuse of Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners in Israel to understand what Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld meant, when referring to new, yet to be released photos and videos, he said, "if these images are released to the public, obviously its going to make matters worse."

According to a political appointee within the Bush administration and U.S. intelligence sources, the interrogators at Abu Ghraib included a number of Arabic-speaking Israelis who also helped U.S. interrogators develop the "R2I" (Resistance to Interrogation) techniques. Many of the torture methods were developed by the Israelis over many years of interrogating Arab prisoners on the occupied West Bank and in Israel itself.

Clues about worse photos and videos of abuse may be found in Israeli files about similar abuse of Palestinian and other Arab prisoners. In March 2000, a lawyer for a Lebanese prisoner kidnapped in 1994 by the Israelis in Lebanon claimed that his client had been subjected to torture, including rape. The type of compensation offered by Rumsfeld in his testimony has its roots in cases of Israeli torture of Arabs. In the case of the Lebanese man, said to have been raped by his Israeli captors, his lawyer demanded compensation of $1.47 million. The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel documented the types of torture meted out on Arab prisoners. Many of the tactics coincide with those contained in the Taguba report: beatings and prolonged periods handcuffed to furniture. In an article in the December 1998 issue of The Progressive, Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb reported on the treatment given to a 23-year old Palestinian held on "administrative detention." The prisoner was "cuffed behind a chair 17 hours a day for 120 days . . . had his head covered with a sack, which was often dipped in urine or feces. Guards played loud music right next to his ears and frequently taunted him with threats of physical and sexual violence." If additional photos and videos document such practices, the Bush administration and the American people have, indeed, "seen nothing yet."

Although it is still largely undocumented if any of the contractor named in the report of General Antonio Taguba were associated with the Israeli military or intelligence services, it is noteworthy that one, John Israel, who was identified in the report as being employed by both CACI International of Arlington, Virginia, and Titan, Inc., of San Diego, may not have even been a U.S. citizen. The Taguba report states that Israel did not have a security clearance, a requirement for employment as an interrogator for CACI. According to CACI's web site, "a Top Secret Clearance (TS) that is current and US citizenship" are required for CACI interrogators working in Iraq. In addition, CACI requires that its interrogators "have at least two years experience as a military policeman or similar type of law enforcement/intelligence agency whereby the individual utilized interviewing techniques."

Israeli link possible in US torture techniques
Ali Abunimah, The Daily Star, 11 May 2004

The head of the American defense contracting firm implicated in the torture of Iraqis at Abu Ghraib prison has close ties to Israel and visited an Israeli "anti-terror" training camp in the occupied West Bank earlier this year.

Jack London, chairman, president and CEO of CACI International Incorporated, traveled to Israel in January this year as part of a high-level delegation of US Congressmen, defense contractors and pro-Israel lobbyists, sponsored and paid for in part by the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah, a pro-Israel lobbying and fundraising group, and Greenberg Traurig, LLP, a prominent Washington law and lobby firm.

The purpose of the visit, according to a CACI press release, was "to promote opportunities for strategic partnerships and joint ventures between US and Israeli defense and homeland security companies."

As one of the highlights of the visit, London was presented with the Albert Einstein Technology Award by Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz at a gala dinner at Jerusalem city hall, for "achievements in the field of defense and national security."

23. Read about the ex-Israeli torture camp at Khiam if you have time to kill
It used to be in the southern Lebanese village of the same name, then under occupation. Both the prison and the land surrounding it was liberated by the Resistance 4 years ago, but only after 2 decades of brutal tortures were carried out on people that were kidnapped and held hostage by the Israeli occupyers and the local gangs they hired as lackeys.

The parallels between the two occupations are remarkable.

There may be some alternate spellings of "Khiam".

24. Na, Duuuu Aidoneus,
The denial of the sickness in the heart of humankind has us on a collision course with Mother Nature's reality that we ain't all that. Is it not ironic that this train wreck is fueled by leavings of creatures millions of years EXTINCT?

OOPS! I forgot... the earth is 5000 years old. :spank: MY BAD!

We were given much to be able to recognize each others' value and values; family ties... modern technology, and somehow those advances have led to INDUSTRIAL DESTRUCTION. "Creative destruction," according
to Rushdooney. Something is seriously warped in River City. ;-)

Alan Dulles, OSS, CIA, School of the Americas, Mossad, ISI, Al-WHATEVER,
(help me out here) been engaged in NA$$INE$$ for decades culminating in
DA dada DUH: A CONSISTENT PATTERN OF TORTURE. (Film at 11).

Ah Dwight and Smedley... We hardly even knew ya....
