Question: Who are the prisoners?

If, as has been alleged by the right, that the prisoners in the pictures are very bad guys IE: terrorists, insurgents, killers of troops, then there must be some record of who they are. I understand that not all of them are documented, for whatever reason, but some record must exist on some.

Who are they, what did they do? Anyone have info?

Innocent people who were picked up in error.

Bush was so desperate to find evidence of his bogus claims he is allowing the most brutal treatment of these innocent people. Who wouldn't confess to SOMETHING after being raped, attacked by dogs, etc?

Disgusting. Shameful. Rumsfeld.

Even the woman who produced the 60 minutes report said that they were mixing in various criminals with about 60% of people they could not figure out why they were there at all. Picked up at checkpoints and sweeps.

They started to refer to them as guilty of "driving while Iraqi".

6. they are NOT "prisoners"

they are detainees

prisoners are people who have been charged with, and convicted of a crime

detainees are military-age males (from 15 to elderly) who are rounded up in house-to-house sweeps and 'detained', and of course tortured/interrogated

there is a world of difference between the two
